We met with them in the late summer of 2022, and were debating on whether not to have this done end of 2022 or first in the spring in 2023. We ended up going with spring of 2023, and were first on their priority list. While the project took longer than expected, and we had some set backs, we were still very happy with the communication. In full disclosure, we did have to have one side of the garage re-done due to some James Harding and a portion of the roof re-done (due to rushed contracting work), we still were really happy with the overall project. Would definitely recommend them again.

My first look inside I saw the concrete floor was not finished correctly. Know how the sidewalk or walkways you see everywhere outside? Not a single light was installed over the workbench but off to the other wall instead. the sheetrock wasn't hung in any timely matter at all. missing vapor barriers. She told me that they charged her $1500 for electric service connection which she later found out that $300 was what Excel charged Sussel. The subs Sussel uses must be getting shorted on pay for them to do such shoddy and incomplete work. Can't think of any other reason for them to not care about getting it done correctly. She said she has not been successful in getting them to fix anything and they sued her when she tried withholding the last payment. I really feel sorry for her getting taken by a company that really does shoddy work. I've read other reviews about Sussel and it really seems to be about which subs they use. My advice? Hire your own subs. Make sure everyone sticks to the blueprint.

Signed a contract and paid 1/3 of total cost down payment on 5/17. I was told the project would only take a few weeks. The windows needed to be installed before siding, but there were multiple delays getting windows measured, ordered, delivered. Windows were finally delivered to our house on 7/22. The skylight/roof was fixed on 7/26. Window crew was slow and sloppy. Windows were "done" in a few days in early August, but then they took weeks to get the trim installed. One bright spot was the siding crew. Walter and crew tore off the old siding and wrapped the house in a day. They also paid attention to details like light fixtures, wiring, etc., and changed out some siding after I changed my mind about a minor detail. They also returned flower pots and other landscaping items when finished. They even came out on a Sat. to install new gutters. Most of the work was done in by mid-August, but it took until October to finish a few details. We had a new front door installed, pole wrapped, etc. Once they were done(over 5 months later), they tried to charge us for the windows twice(maybe a mistake, but the siding price was as much as the windows/siding original estimate), and also charged us for multiple items they said were covered. Get it in writing, I guess.

I totally trusted them. Shortly after the replacement it leaked. They came out it promptly, diagnosed the problem and allegedly made the repair. This spring with the rains it leaked again in both places. I reported and they came out again. Without in inspecting, walking up the driveway they said it was condensation, and that was my problem. Mind you the roof never leaked before. It's now staining my sheet rock inside the house, I'm sure its now a mold problem. After concerned conversation they said they would send out a specialist to test and now crickets from them. Ive even had a fan going on both the impacted areas trying to dry it out 24/7. When it seems dry I paint because it looks horrible. Then when it rains, I have to start over. I'm a old man (64). I shouldn't have climb up ladder, having to risk my health to try to repair the damage again and again hoping the damage has been resolved. I highly recommend everyone stay away from TCR. TL;DR several roofing installation mistakes made,…read moresevere lack of communication from TCR throughout the entire process, and I was asked to write a review before work even began - red flag. After getting roof replacement quotes from 5 different companies, I decided to go with the second to cheapest option - which was Twin City Roofing. And of course, I got what I paid for. The problems began after I signed the quote and handed over the deposit check. I live next to a day care and young children play outside all of the time. Paul, the project manager that was working with me, suggested they perform all of the work on the 4th of July week since kids likely wouldn't be at the day care then. I arranged with my neighbor to not have kids there that week. A few weeks go by and I didn't hear from Paul or anyone else at TCR. The Friday before the 4th of July week, I reached out to Paul to find out when they would be coming and he said "Next week I believe". Then on Monday when no one arrived, I reached out to Paul again. He responded by saying he was on vacation and that Robert P. in the production office could help. I reached out to Robert and he said "I can tell you it won't be this week." Obviously I was unhappy that the roof wasn't going to be replaced that week but I was more upset with the lack of communication throughout the process. It should not be on the client to have to contact the company multiple times to try to get answers. Nonetheless, when the roofers came to replace the roof on my house, garage and shed, they came unannounced. The concerning issues came from work on the roofs. The shingles on the ridge of my shed transitioned from shingles that are meant to be put on ridges to what look like starter shingles. It is very obvious this is not correct. And on my garage, there is a full 15" of a starter shingle that is literally just hanging from the edge of my roof. How did this get missed?? And the biggest issue is with the flat roofs on my house. I asked all of the appropriate questions to Paul from the outset to make sure that there would be grading on the flat roofs such that all of the water would flow to the spout and drain. Alas, a few days after the work was complete, we got our first rain storm and I saw water pooling along the edges of the flat roof and heavy pooling in one corner. I contacted TCR on July 14th and sent pictures of all of these issues. I didn't get a response so I sent a second email on 7/20. I finally got a response from Tyler and he asked me when would be a good time the following day for him to check out my issues. I responded with a time in the morning. I then didn't hear back from him and he did not show up the next day. I was later contacted by Robert and he said he was working on a game plan on getting my issues addressed. Five days later (7/26), he sent another email saying he would have a game plan the following day and he would let me know. As you can imagine, I did not hear from him on 7/27. I emailed Robert again on 7/28 with no response. Finally on 8/9, Tyler came out to my house to take pictures of my concerns. He agreed that all of them need to be addressed. He said he would let me know soon what the next steps would be. I have not heard from him since. I emailed Robert on 8/16 telling him Tyler came out to my house and that I was looking for more information when the fixes can occur. I have not heard from TCR since - at all. I should have known from the get go something was off because after I gave Paul the deposit check, he asked me to write a good review of his efforts to boost the company. I was certainly not going to write a review for services that had not yet begun. If you do go with TCR, make sure to pay as little as possible up front so they have to come back and fix issues before they get their full payment.
