I always went to Les & Rita's because it was a safe bet, the food was always fresh and well prepared so I knew I wouldn't be left disappointed. I no longer work in Rhyl but from time to time we pop into Rhyl for a change of scene and often head to Les & Rita's for lunch in the sit-down area. If you believe that a visit to a traditional seaside resort isn't complete without sitting down to a traditional fish and chip meal then the 'special' which comprises fish, chips, mushy peas, bread & butter plus a pot of tea for £4.75 is a no-brainer. Good quality fresh food, friendly and quick service and all at a reasonable price. You can't go wrong here. One other useful addition to the menu is the kids 'meal in a box' which includes lunch, a drink, a lollipop and a toy. If you've got kids who can't see beyond a McDonald's happy meal this is an option that should keep them happy. My daughter recently polished off a helping of chicken nuggets and chips and commented that it was just like going to McDonalds except the chips were much nicer and you got more of them which sums it up quite nicely.

Each year, we have a couple of hours between Saturday's sessions in which to get some food. The Seafarer has become the venue of choice for many of the volunteers, even those living close enough to get home for food. We have never had any problems in getting a table or two and the service is very good, as is the choice of meals. Having just spent part of the summer in Whitby, I was prepared for a slight disappointment this year, but it didn't happen - the cod tasted just as good as those I had become used to. There is a small, but viable choice of drinks; tea, beer, wine etc. and these are served very quickly. The food typically takes a while longer, but this is indicative of the fact that all is prepared as requested, rather than kept warm until needed. As stated by others, there is plenty of free parking around - the huge Memorial Hall parking area is still there even though the Hall has been demolished in readiness for a brand new one in the next few years.

A time when the conditions for chip frying are perfect, you are the optimum amount of hungry, know exactly what you want and get it. So I only got a cone of chips. But chips are the staple part of a chippery are they not? Reasons for the extra-hyper review? One. They came in a CONE. I was just short of a beach to walk along. Two. They were crispy and fluffy and light and satisfying all at precisely the same time. Three. They were doused in salt and vinegar which left the crispy bits soaked in a vinegary heaven at the bottom. MMM. The staff were really friendly, and they were 90p. All that heaven. Less than £1. I can't comment on the Fish however, I can only hope that it lives up to my now skyhigh expectation. I salute you L1 Fish and Chip Shop; Lobster Pot just lost it's crown.
