I am 17 now, volunteering my spring and summer breaks to work at the camp I feel changed me the most! As a kid I loved tons of activities like all the games, swimming, sports day and of course all the crafty things I got to take home with me. Reaching my adult years and I still love the sport of Riding and the experience of being around horses. Working at Webbs gives me a chance to help and give back to other children. My family at Webbs is forever expanding, and if you're thinking of sending your child here, I can only give you support! working at Webbs gives you a whole different perspective on how things are run, compared to as when your a child actually staying at the camp. a basic broken down list of the week for you (long weeks) Sunday-Saturday (short weeks) Monday-Friday FIRST DAY: its basically all the rules, guide lines and all the "what you need to know" things. You walk up to the fields with the consolers to visit all of the horses, and when you return you go to your dorm to get beds and dorm rules sorted out. Snack is served and a camp fire is put on just before bed. EARLY IN THE WEEK: BELL RINGS!! TIME FOR BREAKFAST! After breakfast is the first dorm inspection, this is where the messiest dorm, after provided cleaning time, is choosing to clean the tables at lunch, dinner (that day) and breakfast tomorrow! (don't worry its fun!) Children get divided into mixed groups so there are enough horses for each child in a group. Groups ride at different times of the day and rotate order on the following days. In the morning groups who are not riding do activities and games with their group leaders like; Manhunt, Kick The Can, Octopus ect. There is a playground, volley ball court, basket ball court, gym, arts and crafts room and of course the pool! After lunch the remaining group(s) go riding and other groups get into the groove of games :) MIDDLE OF THE WEEK: Because they're so many options of things to do, it keeps everyone busy throughout the week. Another activity that is from Webbs Holiday Acres traditions is sports day, where pool and field events are held and groups compete friendly against each other, and cheer on friends during events. END OF THE WEEK: The first half of the week goes the slowest with everyone still getting to know everyone and their surroundings, but by the middle and the end of the week, you can hear everyone complaining how the week is coming to an end. A very cool and fun way to bring the week to an end, is how Webbs does the last full day at camp!! after riding, activities and dinner Kangaroo Court is held where any child with any kind of crime that week has to face the wrath of one of Webbs judges. crimes range anything from falling off of your horse (punishment might be: hug/kiss the ground and thank it for catching you) or Julie for always wearing dresses, (punishment might be: must wear pants for the rest of Kangaroo court) We always encourage good things and lots of children get to go home with a horseshoe for being a good friend, good rider, or helper at the barn. After this entertaining trial everyone runs for their dorms to get ready for the DANCE!!! The dance was always my favourite part of the week, because you had your friends established, and that night you just let loose, have a little bit to much candy and sing and dance the night away with your friends. More importantly, it's an outstanding summer experience for kids who love (and want to ride) horses and want to make new friends. I know this firsthand, having spent many summers as a child at Webb's in the past. Looking back, spending an entire week (6 nights, 7 days) away from your parents, in a different setting, with all sorts of new people and daily activities, is a really great way to grow as a kid. FYI: Some of these activities included: campfire songs and storytelling, trail riding horses, going to a non-school dance, participating in skits, playing capture the flag, etc, etc. I recommend this place to my friends who are parents now, and still sometimes go and visit. Since it's only 50-minute drive from central Vancouver, it still feels like a convenient country escape. Some of the friendships I made during my summers here have lasted a lifetime.

First time visiting this park and we saw lots of wildlife here…read more I like how the info board at the entrance of the park tells you where everything is and the estimated time it will take to complete each trail, and the distance of the trail and if it's flat or steep elevation. Very useful and helpful to decide which trail to go. We decided to do the Mini River Loop trail which is 2.3 km and will take about an hour to complete. However from the south entrance, we need to take the South Valley trail which is steep downhill to the valley where it will meet the Mini River Loop trail. Fortunately the steepness is not so bad and you can walk on the side which is grass if you are like me, afraid of slipping on the loose gravels in the middle. Just watch out for wildlife. We saw a skinny snake on the south valley trail. I was too stunned and by the time I wanted to take a picture, the snake has slithered across to the grass area. I managed to take a pic of it entering the forest. Only 2 steep parts of the south valley trail and then it was flat before meeting the Mini River Loop trail. That is a very nice walk with benches scattered around. On that trail, we saw chipmunk and squirrel and some tiny birds hopping on the ground. You can also hear the birds chirping and animals rustling among the leaves and bushes in the forest. We also saw people walking and running with their dogs, having picnics. A very nice place to be with nature and do some forest bathing. There is a pond near the parking lot and we heard the bullfrogs and saw ducks there. Definitely recommended for a simple commune with nature.

For the most part it's pretty clean and a well maintained trail. Lots of signs and maps so you don't have to worry about getting lost. Cell phone service varies depending on how deep the tree canopy is so be aware. There are washrooms along the trail near the garden park. Definitely will come back for this little slice of heaven in my back yard.

Stephanie is great human. Through and through. A well experienced rider, coach/trainer and barn owner. Park Lane is a family oriented community and business, that spreads this compassion into the boarding and riding experience. I definitely agree with previous reviewers. Aidan has very nice view for her business, and horses. She is so respectful, and friendly! I love having her teaching me how to work with a horse. She teaches me how to be a leader, how to read horses' body language, and how to be a great rider. I recommend this place to everyone! This place is very different from other barns and horseback riding schools, and that is why it is the nicest place I've ever been to. You can see that horses are very calm and relaxed. She was very patient with me, walked me around to meet all the horses and then we groomed Neesha, a beautiful black horse. I was tentative but she showed me and gave me the confidence to perform all the tasks and helped with the hind hooves when it was a little more challenging for me. We lead the horse around and she showed me how to use my intentions to guide the horse. She is so gentle with the animals and really tries to get that across. Once I was comfortable leading the horse on the ground I got on a very thin saddle. And from there I was lead around while learning how the horse can feel my body in order to determine the correct action. And then I was on my own! Directing the horse by myself was so rewarding. It is only the beginning of my adventure but I would hands down recommend her if you are a novice like myself. She also teaches more advance riders and although I cannot speak for those riders, I think she would be a wonderful teacher for all levels. And just mentioning again how gentle her methods are!

Also the newer cabins have bathrooms built in so no walking to the communal bathroom. My daughter stayed at Timberline Ranch for one week. The ranch is Christian which was fine with us,…read morethough we aren't religious. We thought they'd say Grace at meals and perhaps have a few Sunday school type activities throughout the week. We attended a tour prior to the camp and the information given there was very different from what my daughter experienced. The camps primary goal seems to be to convert the kids. They had 1 hour plus each morning of 'Chapel' and each evening a few people gave a testimony about how Jesus saved them. Virtually all the songs the kids sang were religious. On one day, if the kids misbehaved during a meal, first their utensils were confiscated, then their chair, them they were made to eat on the floor. My daughter wasn't given an opportunity to bathe all week, the schedule is so tightly packed between activities and indoctrination. She told them she wanted to go home, she wasn't permitted to phone us even though she was very upset. No one called us on her behalf. Essentially she was a hostage.
