I like doing business where you work with friendly AND professional owners. I have been going in to this shop as a "browser" for a year or two. The owner and his wife always greet you as you walk through the door. As others have said, it is predominantly a music and gun shop but I will add to that, coins and some jewelry. Their pricing is average, not high, not low. What I really like is that you get a sense that it is an honest business and these are members of the community who represent it well. As with any pawn shop, know the value of what you have or what you are looking for and they are willing to strike a fair deal for both parties. First of all, I do NOT understand the "negative" reviews here... these folks have been nothing but generous and kind to me from day one. I had originally shopped at Glen Rose Music, or shall I say, TRIED to, but the elitist old guys in there would virtually ignore me when I came in and treated me like a leper. Needless to say, they are shut down now. Craig's in Weatherford- great folks, but I went in one day with around $300 bucks and I could tell they weren't too worried about giving me business, so I went to Black's and have never looked back for several years now. This is really a Music Store/Gun Store, in essence, and always well- stocked. They have always been helpful and very willing to work with anyone that does the regular business with them and more. These folks are trying to provide a service and that goes 2-ways in this world. Being a working, professional musician, they understand this and have even opened on a Saturday for me on emergency, knowing I do this for a living- now thats going out of your way! In closing, don't even give heed to these ridiculous negative reviews... I can assure you these people are wonderful shop owners and will provide quality service and fair-dealing with anyone that they can. read more

I purchased an Amplifier for $649.99 for a gift to use on a Keyboard & guitar. They told me in the store that the one I was purchasing was normally $1000. When I got it home I looked it up online and a brand new one is $600.00 which is less than what they charged me for this used one. They charge a 30% restocking fee if you return it. also it was missing 2 parts for it. So now I'm stuck with this one or I will lose 30% if I return it. Be very careful and look up their used equipment online before you get taken to the cleaners by these people who straight out lied to me! read more

These people are nothing more than wolves in sheep clothing. In a position of misfortune I pawned a rifle that my father in law gave me. I mentioned my concern from the beginning and they assured me that they would take good care of it. I made regular payments for several months and built rapport and a level of comfort with them during this time. During my last in store payment visit Mrs. Black assured me that she would call if there was a problem both her and Mr Black were both aware how important this item was to me and my family. Black Pawn sold my item without ever making one call as promised. Their actions indicate that they do not mind manipulating people with kindness and have no problem deflecting their shallow behavior. This is by far if not the best guitar shop around in my opinion. They had many arays of guitars to look at and with reasonable prices. They we're nice to let us try out anything we see. I am a beginner and they even helped me out to a very good tuner. I really recommended this place if your looking for a beginner guitar of for something more. read more
