The shuttle was easy to get to. The other issue was the wasn't much places to sit in the airport, lots of empty spaces with nothing in it. Please put more seating in those areas. Departure was easier the car return area was directly connected to the shuttle to get to the main entrance of the airport. TSA was a little busy but wasn't too bad. Staff was pretty good.

That being said, it is fairly efficient at hearding people who may not be used to air travel. TSA is always running at maximum capacity, they are not the friendliest of representatives, but they get it done. The gates are too small and are showing their age and their bathrooms are not really equipped for the amount of traffic. They are just prepping you for future queues. However, if you are going to the happiest place on earth, this is the gateway there.

Luckily we still had enough time to grab food beforehand. The food court had decent options, nothing amazing, but enough variety to find something. It also looked like they had some pretty good shopping spots, but I didn't really get a chance to explore before boarding. Overall, no complaints and nothing super memorable either. BLUF: Small, clean airport with local flair convenient to downtown Sarasota…read more Typically my husband and I fly into Tampa when visiting Sarasota since we have many choices on SWA. However, recently we decided to go right into SRQ and we loved being at our favorite Sarasota spots right after landing. After landing we were quickly able to navigate the small airport, get our rental car, stop for caffeine and be at The Ringling all within 30 minutes of landing. The airport is small so it's easy to navigate but that also means there are not a ton of amenities. We enjoyed local artwork and displays throughout. Also, the volunteers that provide airport information and tourist information were very welcoming.

From what I could tell on my limited experience here, it's efficiently run. The gates are split between two areas, so you have to go through the security to group of gates, and can't access the other side without exiting and going through the other security section. The planes are boarded and deboarded with stairs directly outside, rather than through a jet bridge. Luckily coming and going, the weather was nice, if it were rainy or stormy, it would be a bad time to get on or off plane for sure. My gate area had a Dunkin, a Hudson News and bar with a small kitchen. There was plenty of seating by the gates, mainly because they only have a plane leaving every few hours, so not to overfilled with other travelers. Overall, good experience and I'm sure I'll be back, though their flight destination list is pretty limited, luckily PTI/GSO is one of them.

We decided to make the drive from Tampa to Lakeland as we got a good deal on an Avelo flight to…read morevisit family. It took right around 45 minutes to get there from downtown Tampa. Parking was free (although we had to drive a couple laps around the small lot to find a spot). They do have a gate that was being installed that looks like parking may be a paid item in the future. Both the check in desk and security were very easy. They offered Pre check guests a ticket so that we did not have to remove laptops or shoes. Once in the terminal, they had a small snack bar with a number of offerings. However, once everyone arrived for the flight, there was very few places to sit, hardly anywhere to charge your devices, and it was very hot. Overall, a very easy experience, but would hope that they put some upgrades on the air side once business ramps up.

I guess that for those of you looking to take flying lessons or send six tons of diapers to Djibouti, this place has something right up your alley. Parking is easy and free (for now), so keep those quarters in your pockets (for now). They're gonna build short and long term lots eventually, so stay tuned. We were unaware at the time of our booking that this was not the closer airport to our terminal. But are we glad we did select this airport! We flew in and out on Allegiant airlines security was a breeze and the people were so kind and friendly and professional in spite of the situation which is going on with the government! You can tell that the workers there take a lot of pride in keeping their airport clean and running smoothly! If ever I'm in or around the Orlando area I will most definitely choose this airport! Finding an Uber was easy and quick. Departure was a little more annoying. I'm not sure why there were so many self check kiosks if you still have to stand in line again for checked bags, but it was an annoying amount of extra waiting. TSA line was ok, but pre-check did not go as quickly as I am used to. Lounges were decent here. There was a sky club and also a priority pass lounge and we tried each. The airport itself is showing its age a bit and could use a refresh. But still beats the other airport

However, I didn't see any problems with the facilities or restaurants there. It's the main terminal for United Airlines as well as JetBlue (and others). We recently flew out of here on our way to their hub in Houston (IAH). The last time was when we flew to Puerto Rico to visit family members prior to 2018. I don't remember seeing the "Copper Birds" there at that time. I've always wondered where they went. I'm glad they found a good place to display them. The view of the runway at Airside A (as well as F) is very nice. The boarding for United was very organized. I think the only negative is that only one of the SkyConnect trams was operational. It's a minor inconvenience. The wait time wasn't too long for the other one to return. The people mover trams will all eventually be replaced anyway, so expect more wait times at all the airsides. It will be a nice upgrade to TPA once that project is completed. As always, it was a smooth trip back to Tampa.
