We have family in the area so we have stayed in a few along the years. My complaints are with the room specifically. The bed was somehow both too soft & too hard at the same time. It was so soft that you can feel the structure& support of the bed below (which is hard). All the pillows are soft feather pillow. We asked for others but they never arrived. There are pieces of the faux wood vinyl missing from walls & furniture. And the room has an odd sweet fruity chemical smell that's quite overpowering. This is also a brownish black stain on the ceiling in the shower which I suspect is either a leak or mold. But the worst part was that the curtains were too short for the window. I'm a light sensitive sleeper (so light wakes me up) our room was next to a street lamp so at night we had a bright light cast throughout the room lighting it up all night making it very difficult to fall & stay asleep. Then when the sun came up is got VERY BRIGHT in our room so between that & the uncomfortable bed this wasn't a great experience. There is a complementary breakfast (the same generic stuff as any other) while I did t it partake, my husband did while trying to get some early morning work done and he wasn't particularly impressed by anything I don't think we would book this specific hotel in the future bit there are many to choose from all neighboring each other

Pillows stacked in all the windows made it look strange pulling up. Pool closed. Room had many suspicious stains on the walls. Breakfast was bare bones. No waffles, no bacon, no sugar, no pastries, no yogurt. If you politely asked the staff anything here, they would help --with an eye roll and sarcastic comment. I did find some sugar for my coffee when I asked the nice housekeeping ladies. Maybe they should be running the front desk! Not a place I'd want to return. The front desk ladies were just pretty rude overall.

But no real kitchen. Kind of mad there was no real kitchen to warm food and there was a fridge but it was completely full. We also supplied our own hand soap. There is a counter and 2 folding tables in the kitchen for use. We had to clean bathroom. Unattended little child running around while we're trying to setup and build our balloon arch. Would not recommend. Unprofessional

And it's dog friendly as long as they on a leash. There are also 3 huge trolls to see along with various art pieces here and there. You can park and enter off of Frederick Pike (farmhouse) or off Aullwood Road off of Route 4 (Education Center). I was able to see one troll from the nature center path, and the volunteer there did a great job helping me plan the visit (and warned me away from some poison ivy patches they were dealing with the next day). And then I drove to the farm area to see the other two trolls in a much less muddy manner. The farm space is also really nice, and comes with goats in desperate need of more pets, so obviously you should go help them out.

As for the property...This is a police lodge NOT a banquet center. Thank goodness for our GPS because there is no address or sign that says powell banquet center! If you get past that deception you approach the building to obvious lack of care. As you dodge the craters in the parking lot that are just waiting to swallow your tires you see this appealing building. After the crater field you get out of your car and approach the door to broken benches, peeling window tint, and the door pull was broken on the inside. After you enter the building keep looking at eye level. If you look up or down you will see a huge difference. The walls have been updated and are the cleanest thing there. Then you look down and there is the lack luster of a pink tile floor that reminds you of your days in school. They were not clean nor polished. As you enter the kitchen you are greeted by your grandmas brown wood kitchen cabinets with brand new commercial chefs stove with a run down rusty commercial refrigerator, and a household refrigerator/freezer. I was then taken outside to a shelter house with blown over trash cans that were full of trash. The property itself was rough around the edges. The grass was mowed, but there were sticks, and you can see the overgrown of the woods approaching! There was a beautiful gazebo overlooking a pond. Since my wedding was in the spring I asked about the landscaping and I was assured it would be perfect! (I don't think so!) There was a red stained concrete walkway that my fiance said needed to be sealed or would look horrible before or wedding. He also was concerned about the trees above the wedding guests that were untrimmed. While out there she once again Gina had her own ideas of out wedding. At that point I did all I could just to get out. Pros: Very nice gazebo on a pond. Lots of Parking Bring your own caterer (huge saving) Supply your own alcohol (huge savings) Use of Kitchen Cons: THE PERSON THAT RUNS THE PLACE GINA! (SHE IS THE #1 REASON WE DID NOT RENT IT ON THE SPOT!) They have no brides room. No grooms Room. Upkeep Brown folding chairs (would have to rent better chairs, but can with the price) Deceptive advertising!!!! Parking lot in bad shape! HUBER HEIGHTS POLICE PLEASE FIRE THIS LADY, GIVE YOUR PROPERTY A GOOD CLEANING, UPDATE & FIX SOME THINGS AND YOU JUST MIGHT HAVE SOMETHING THERE!
