Horrible service! All they do at this place is have banquets and meetings and every time I asked for something the girls working looked at me like I was bothering them! It was steaming hot in the room all day; could they adjust the temp? Nope, they didn't! very disappointed! read more

Initially, I was happy with the planning stages. Everyone seemed helpful. My actual event, however, was awful. One of their employees STOLE MY WEDDING GIFTS!! In fact, the police report states, it WASNT THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED!!! The employees were in the photobooth that I rented for my guests WITHOUT PERMISSION, so my guests had to wait on them! They did not cut the cake properly, so my guest had to do it. The employees cleared the food and drinks before people were finished. They also cleared my favors without asking the guests and tried to keep the glasses I had etched for the bridal party with the individual's names. Here is my letter in part to the Mandalay staff... I am writing in regard to my recent experience at the Mandalay Banquet Center. I booked your venue for my October 2015 wedding. As you are well aware, a wedding is one of the most important days in a couple's life. Most people dream of an amazing day and experience that plays out with no conflict. I called numerous places when I got engaged this past March and ultimately decided on the Mandalay due to many positive factors. My husband and I set up an appointment with Joyce Spurling, Catering sales manager on Tuesday, March 24th and immediately put down a deposit after listening to all of the wonderful details and seeing the beautiful venue. Little did we know but that would start our awful 7 month experience with Joyce and staff. Allow me start with a few excerpts from email exchanges. I've honestly never experienced such horrendous customer service in my life and for it to be while planning my dream wedding?? -Truthfully, after the guest have been here for 5 hours, they are ready to go. I'm planning on the cocktail hour in the lobby, but it will not hold all the people. The Ballroom will have to be open too. Do you really want all your guest watching us move in and set up the head table? -It cost us money to have the manager in, the lights and air/heat on, restrooms cleaned etc. That is why we give you 2 hours prior access for a quick walk thru. We have ceremonies here almost every weekend and have never had a problem. You can ask Terry Carlisle, he has done several here. -How are you planning on the guest knowing which table they sit at? I really wish you would rethink the dinner service. It would be so much more classy if you did place cards telling them which table they sat at and also using those to identify the meal ordered. Day of the wedding: We paid an extra hour but Kenneth and staff flipped the lights on early without even relaying to the DJ. We did not get to have our final dance or tell our guests goodbye. They turned the lights off when guests were still in the building. They even had to unlock the door just so my husband and I could get out of the building.The bartender charged each person a different price for drinks. They ranged from $4 for a mixed drink to $30.50 for 2 mixed drinks. Soda consumption was supposedly 142 when we had just over 115 in attendance. Joyce told us that she uses one soda can for 2 people so you are telling me 115 people drank 284 glasses of soda??The staff said my guests ate all of the cake except for one small square. Only the bridal party and parents were served the chocolate layer and everyone else only got white cake. When guests asked where the white cake was located, staff said "just eat this". I'm not sure what happened to our $700 cake but it was not served and staff told me there was none left. As you can see, our experience was unfathomable. I will forever look back and see that the only positive was actually getting married and having my family/friends with me. If we would have known the nightmare that was before us, we would have walked right back out of that office in March. I have already and will continue to spread the word for anyone needing a venue to RUN away from this venue. I just wish I could go back 7 months and have that opportunity. I challenge the staff at the Mandalay to put themselves in that new bride or groom's shoes. Imagine if your son or daughter was preparing for that day. Would you want this for them? read more

I had a great time at my wedding. the room was just beautiful and me and my wife were treated like King and Queen. We got our own champagne and everything was just so perfect. top notch service and everything was set before we got there. everyone there is so nice. We had our ceremony and reception at the Mandalay in July. It was absolutely PERFECT! The staff was beyond exceptional and the food was delicious! The room was set up perfectly and the decor was gorgeous! My husband and I were 100% happy with Mandalay. I would recommend the Mandalay to anyone. I attended an event a few weeks ago and had a great time! My first impression of The Mandalay when I walked in was how nice it looked. From the beginning to the end, the staff was very impressive.
