I took a picture before so I could compare to the after (which time stamped). During the facial, she held the LED light on one spot on my forehead for too long and it caused a burn. When I winced she took it off and I believe cooled it down in water, my eyes were closed so it may have been something different. Immediately after the facial, I took another picture ( time stamped) and had discomfort to the area. I thought it might resolve overnight, however it was still present the next day and I took another picture. I understand that many small businesses are struggling and I reached out to the team directly with the pictures and what happened. I requested an apology and a refund. Despite this, they did not believe me and wanted me to come in person. I live in a surrounding community and was unable too. They asked to meet over Skype and I was unable to at that time and provided an alternative time. They then told me they did not see it in person the day after it happened and would not refund me. They stated I needed a lawyers letter and they would process it through their insurance and see. It is very unreasonable for me to pay $500 for a lawyers letter to get a $120 refund. I understand that complications happen and I tried to deal with Bella Spa directly for an apology and a refund and they should extremely unprofessional behaviour. Save your face, go to one of the many beautiful spas in the Okanagan!

My experience at Body Sugaring Kelowna was less than exceptional. I was bombarded by Tina's…read morepolitical views and her disdain and disregard for the COVID virus. I became uncomfortable when she would stop periodically, ask me a question and then stare at me until I answered. She was asking me personal questions about my beliefs and my thoughts toward the pandemic, something I was not expecting at a wax appointment. She was slandering the education system, shared her disdain for the PM, and her interest in the "dark web". I have been getting sugared for 5 years, and never had a more painful experience, she did not apply pressure when removing certain sections of hair, and she did not remember to give me a take home skin routine before I left. The appointment was over 45 mins, and she should have used more sugar than she did. She told me I was getting sweaty so she had to get new sugar, when really she should have changed it already, and I was sweating because I was in so much pain! I booked two appointments one for me and for a friend, she called my friend and cancelled because the other employee had major allergies and couldn't come into work. We drove from out of town, my friend was given 30 minutes notice before her appointment cancellation. Unprofessional, and insensitive.

Just because you don't share the same view, doesn't make it appropriate to go online and make some pretty serious claims, that attack her character. I cannot personally imagine her doing any of the things that you described in the 1st paragraph. Maybe she's just not your cup of tea. She is the best Body Sugaring Service I have ever had. Gentle, thorough I didn't even feel the paste being applied. Your comment about allergies was totally unrealistic. Would you really want a service provider working over you sneezing and having cold like symptoms...? I have seen first hand the extent to which they suffer from allergic reactions and it's in the clients best interest to not perform the service when this occurs. Additionally, you are not a certified practitioner so you don't have the educational background to determine when the "paste needs to be thrown out" and "she could have used more sugar then she did." Also, making other claims about their technique. If in fact, you were sweaty like you noted then their technique was a professional practice? I totally agree with Shivani's review, Kelowna is fortunate to have such a great Body Sugaring local business! They will always be my go-to place for Sugaring.
