My review is from a consumer perspective, not an advertiser…read more We move a lot for the husband's job. This is the first time I've come across this site in my search for housing. In my experience, a good portion of the listings are exclusive to Militarybyowner, as I didn't see them on mega sites like Zillow et al. Some are for military families only, which is appreciated. The search function is theoretically really good. I love how you can filter by a high number of variables, notably by base, but also other standard ones such as number of bedrooms, pets, housing type, etc. The latter is particularly helpful, because unlike other sites, when you search for "single family" dwellings, you don't get townhouses, duplexes, etc. Technically, the site is a little cumbersome. It's glitchy, especially on mobile, and it doesn't allow you to choose multiple options within a category unless you exit them go back in. (For example, I can choose rental price of $2500-3000, but not that option plus $3000-3500 at the same time. The Pets option is ambiguous, and you can only choose one, so it's better to not choose any option, lest you miss certain listings.) One disappointment was finding the perfect house only to learn it was already rented. A month later, the listing is still up. Though, this is likely advertiser neglect rather than a site problem.
