I have a gluten allergy and they were very accommodating. They don't have a GF menu, but they have plenty of options. They have GF bun for the burgers. The seasoning for their hamburger steak and burgers is Montreal Steak seasoning, which is GF. I asked them to make traditional French fries without any seasoning (because I didn't want them to have to look at the ingredients of that seasoning as well) and they had no problem doing that. We arrived about 11:15 am. It was too cold, the music was too loud and 5 employees standing around talking. The waitress was very nice. We waited for 30 minutes to get our order! The chicken was over cooked and the fries were very undercooked and full of grease. We won't be back. It's too bad because it used to be a great place. read more

Usually we don't have an issue when going to blackbird. However tonight was a night like no other. Don't get me wrong it's a Friday I understand the wait could be a little longer however there is a limit. We sat down and ordered our food. By 45 minutes we were like okay should be coming out soon. We were very wrong. We waited an hour and a half from the time we ordered our food till it go to the table. Then everything was cold. We at that point just ate because we were hungry. Our burgers were barely warm and the fry's and onion rings were ice cold. We asked to talk to a manager and she never came over. We had to go meet her at the register where she stated "im sorry we were busy on a Friday night and that you waited longer than you wanted I can't do anything else for you except 10$ off" keep in mind this was a 70$ meal. Our waitress also stated after an hour and 20 mins of waiting that "I'm so sorry you were skipped in the kitchen the tickets got mixed up" which she also claims to never had stated. read more

We stopped in for a beer and app on the way to the lake. Immediately we knew this was a deep fry place because of the air but we didn't mind since we would be in the lake air soo. We ordered fried mushrooms. I didn't realize they had a basket and a side on the menue. They took forever then the waitress came to deliver PART of an order because she said the cook burned the rest. She said she would bring more which she did but, the second batch was not as hot as the first. They tried to charge $8.49 then said they would reduce it to the app price of $3.49. The sweet potato fries were a little too sweet as they were seasoned with sugar possibly? Ultimately defeating the healthier alternative purpose but good if you like a very sweet fry. Diamond in the Rough!! What a lovely surprise & must stop when in Aurora. It's very casual atmosphere is perfect for stopping on the way to the lake. All of our food, Fettuccini Alfredo Steak was a great cut & cooked perfectly medium rare, Catfish with excellent tartar sauce, Firecracker Chicken & amazing Ruben; were only surpassed by the fresh cut fries! Fries were cold and burnt upon arriving at table My wife and I order the philly cheese steak, This sandwich was completely inedible, The meat was burnt when eating a philly cheese steak the meat should not be crunchy.
