So while I've had a *leetle* exposure to the serious gamers out there, I've never been to a shop quite like this. And, as a nerd in general, I thought it was super fun and super cool. Hundreds of board games. Several gaming tables. Landscapes and hundreds (thousands?) of small painted figures, all made and hand painted by the shop owner. And a WALL of TEA?!?! Yep, a wall of tea. The enterprising owner discovered a local market demand that wasn't being locally supplied, and he smartly added quality tea to the mix so (a) gamers can sip some quality tea and (b) to address a local market gap. They also sell supplies, from dice/die to figures. And the shop owner was great. Really enjoyed chatting with him and hate that I forgot his name. It is much smaller than the Hobby Lobby across the street and the variety and selection are not as good. For the items I like to buy, the prices at Michael's were slightly higher than Hobby Lobby, too. The employees at Michael's were not rude, but they were not particularly friendly or helpful either. My sister and I were there for much less than an hour ( we can barely drag ourselves away from other craft stores in under 2 hours) and felt we had seen everything and were not particularly impressed. We're not planning to go back any time soon.
