It's been over five years since joining WESTCA before I signed up for personal training. I started…read moretraining with Adam earlier this year and I've already noticed fat loss. Adam is motivating and dedicated. He keeps our programs fresh and he's accommodating on scheduling. Even on days we don't train he'll give me pointers, offers to spot, and give corrections to make sure I stay on track. WESTCA is a great place to train. They have everything you'll need and niche things you never knew existed. And regardless of the trainer you work with, you're in good hands.

And here's yet another five-star review for WESTCA…read more Like a lot of people, I spend far too much time sitting behind a computer. After a few meager attempts to get into an exercise routine, it became clear I would need to pay someone to kick my proverbial butt on a regular basis. I was excited to find a gym with such consistently great reviews nearby, and WESTCA absolutely lives up to the hype. I have a decent amount of experience with lifting and resistance training, but I also have some physical limitations, so the semi-private training format has been perfect for me. It provides the structure and accountability I was looking for while still meeting me where I am in terms of experience, fitness level, and physical capability. I've been training with Ivan, who consistently brings good vibes. His instructions are clear, he's quick to adapt exercises around physical limitations when needed, and he progresses training safely and thoughtfully with encouragement along the way. Progress has been steady, and I love feeling stronger and more energetic. As many other reviewers have mentioned, WESTCA is a smaller gym with a welcoming, low-pressure atmosphere. It's the kind of place that makes it easy to stay consistent. If you're looking for a gym, WESTCA is an easy recommendation.

I like this gym, it's a bit more like a club than purely a gym, but I don't really use the club…read morefacilities so the gym part is what I'm reviewing here. No tennis, no pool, no snack bar. Anyway, there are three key things for me when it comes to a gym. First is cleanliness, second is shower facilities, third is equipment. AVAC is a relatively small gym and I tend to go at off hours. This means not many people, so thankfully it's very clean inside. If you think about a 24 Hour Fitness or similar, they have hundreds of people constantly working out, there's no way to uphold hygiene standards. AVAC, despite being small, has frequent cleanings happening, which is nice. The showers at AVAC are... okay. On the plus side, they provide towels, which is a dealbreaker for me. Who wants to bring their own towel to a gym? So that's a big convenience factor. The towels have been bleached and washed to the point they are marginally more absorbent than copy paper and quite rough, but I guess a towel is a towel. The showers themselves are workable but not ideal. Communal in nature, which I personally find awkward, but going at off hours at least allows me to have them to myself or only 1-2 others at most. If it was packed I'd probably wait, it's just too weird. The shampoo and body wash are not very high quality, kind of reminds me of what you'd get at a cheap motel. But again, at least it's there. I also don't want to cart my own soap around. For the gym's size, the equipment variety and quantity is good. I've never not been able to get a treadmill, I've always been able to get the free weights I want, and there are usually benches available. The only thing in short supplies are squat racks, of which there are two, and space for deadlifts, which is basically also two. I would say the gym's clientele leans towards... not people doing those types of exercise. So I haven't typically had to wait, but again I also don't go at peak hours. There are also tons of machines, if you're the type of person who thinks isolation exercises are good. Better than nothing I suppose, but that's just me. AVAC offers a lot of free classes, of which I've taken none. They also have a snack bar, which I've never used. There's also a pool (not the swim school pool which is like 2.5' high) and a kiddie pool outside, neither of which I've been in. And there are tennis courts and pickleball and some outdoor fitness area, which, you guessed it, I have never been to. I wouldn't say AVAC is a destination gym the way Bay Clubs are, but if you're closeby it's probably the best one around. They also have plenty of parking in back in two lots.

AVAC's staff is always service with a smile. The young woman at the front desk with short hair and…read morea nose ring is always so friendly and welcoming and always remembers my name. They have all the machines I use: elliptical, stairmaster, etc. Very clean facility. One thing is I wish there were more vegan options in the cafe.

They brought in like 200+ new members...The type of people who uses 1 machine as their whole workout or sleeps on the bench. (24hr fitness folks/boomers/zoomers). I don't mind the tri-pod or influencer heads, but the vibes nowadays are not it. Not much real gym goers compared to now and most of the new people here have no respect or proper gym etiquette. Half of the folks here now probably ditched 24 due to overcrowding and the useless remodel that they had. Message To Management team: - Please micromanage sleepers and texters - Create capacity rules - Update your rates for new members, this ain't 2019 anymore. - Fix the broken machines asap. - More cable machines... too many sleepers there. - Remove some squat racks, since no one hits legs anymore. The hype is over, no one cares about hitting a new PR.

The gym is still relatively busy even at 11-2pm, you may have to wait a few minutes for a machine but there's no line type of busy. Once 5pm hits though, there will be a few lines for popular machines like the cables and benches. The machines are fine for a commercial gym, they're not in top condition but they work. Stuff happens; people have the right not to have to pay for services they can no longer use.

It is not quite…read morelike 24 Hour Fitness, but if you don't get there during opening, you will need to wait for equipment and machines. I wish this place is 24/7 but they open at 6AM on the weekend and it's never packed to the point where you have to wait, so it's a win-win. Service is impeccable. I love their protein smoothie bar. I have tried their recovery zone and can say I had a relaxing time getting my back and legs massaged while I read my book. It was dim and quiet, but I was by myself. Someone did go into the room to use the massage gun for a few then left. As part of my 2026 goal, I am trying to claw my way back to my old self. I will prioritize my health this year, so I will stop by the recovery room often to unwind in the quiet. One thing I noticed is that you are not supposed to film here but I still see people setting up their tripod and/or flat out filming themselves and their clients which is somewhat annoying, but other than that I have had no complaints here.

The actual facility here is great and the staff is fair- it does seem that a lot of them spend…read moretheir time on their phones and are not super attentive. My main issue with this facility is a specific group of members that have started to come in. There is a large group of people who come in to work with a husband/wife team of independent trainers. The trainers are rude and take up tons of equipment that they do not actively use- like they are trying to reserve it for their future use. When you ask them if you can work in or if they are using something they are rude and look at you like you are insane for even talking to them. This group of people act like they are the only people in the gym and completely lack awareness and any etiquette. They leave weights on machines, don't wipe anything down, and leave huge messes in the restrooms. My other issue is the amount of recording that they do- the gym has now banned the use of free standing tripods (great) but now they are using other pieces of equipment to prop their phones up on and record their workouts. On top of that- there is no regard or awareness for someone in the back of their video. I know that I have been in the back of their recordings, which I do not want to be, and have asked them multiple times to move their phones or not record and they are just rude about it and start talking crap. I have taken these issues to the front desk staff and management. No one does anything about it. I brought it up to the girl at the front desk this past weekend and she basically told me that because they are bringing in so much business they can do what they want. If that is the case then this business clearly does not value all of its members equally.

If you call support they send you around to different extensions until the call drops. Just too add, the gym is constantly full, everyone is flexing in the mirror, people stare. It was bad.
