They called the next day and said the part was in and that I could come by. I drove up and they fixed my laptop within 30 minutes plus fixed some other stuff about at no charge. Yes, I highly recommend this computer repair shop because they know what they are doing and are real fast at doing it. He is a highly qualified project manager for a security, data and technologies company who works with cameras, wiring, and other equipment daily. He sought out a company with experience in PC repairs and wanted to support a small local business. He was treated with disrespect and discrimination the second he stepped into the place. When he asked questions about pricing, they assumed he could not afford things, after he had already spend near $700. In addition to everything else, the case was returned to him with a damaged screw. This company overpriced the "work" that they did on the PC and REFUSED to provide an itemized receipt when asked for a pricing breakdown on what was actually wrong with the PC. They only have an accountant present one day a week and have promised the receipt this upcoming week...we will see. My boyfriend asked for what they worked on and fixed and Larry responded with vague answers. Initially he was charged $294 for diagnostics and to get the PC running again. Then later on they charged him an additional $392 for an update on one thing that they were shaky on describing to him. They also wanted to charge him an additional $100 to flip the power supply upside down (remove 4 screws and put them back in). He refused this service as he has taken apart the PC before and has prior knowledge. It is unclear without the itemized receipt if this charge was added or not. It truly saddens me that a business be run so poorly and with so much racial bias. If you are in need of a computer service stay as far away from Cooper Systems as possible. They enjoy taking money from hard working people. I have a book recommendation for Larry, the employee that treated my boyfriend with such disrespect: "White Fragility: Why it is so hard for white people to talk about racism." It is only 192 pages so I am hoping he will be able to handle it and explore the biases he is holding onto. When speaking to Mike about the racial bias that was exhibited he claims they will do better, and I surely hope they do. Greg Macintyre did a great job with his work and apologizing for the poor customer service exhibited by his coworkers. Still not sure what Greg did, without the itemized receipt, but when getting the PC running again he made sure my boyfriend had another cord to ensure working.
