I took my husband's PS5 here to have the HDMI port replaced. The replacement worked great at first,…read morebut eventually stopped working. Since it was under warranty, I brought it back and they "fixed" it. When my husband picked it up, he was told that if it happened again, it was likely due to something they supposedly couldn't be responsible for and we would have to pay more. We took it to another repair shop for a second opinion, and they confirmed the actual issue: the HDMI port had not been properly soldered to the motherboard. So the explanation we were given by this shop was simply not accurate. The original repair should have been done correctly the first time, and I'm disappointed that instead of taking responsibility, we were given an explanation that was not supported by the actual condition of the repair. I would recommend getting a second opinion before paying for another repair here.

I also didn't find it funny being held hostage over negotiating said price and the attitude and gaslighting that follows. Doesn't matter to me, but I imagine that a lot of wealth has been extracted from the local elderly community by this place based upon how they treat knowledgeable folks with computers. Avoid this place. At the minimum they will have the highest prices in town and you will be saving yourself money by simply not showing up. Seriously. Don't throw money away. Be an adult.

Great for Repairs!…read more What I liked: + Small, family business + Super friendly + Great for computer repairs (IT'S FIXED!) + Upfront pricing What wasn't so good: - Transactions seem to take a long time (just please scan my CC already!) - Appointment Only (What? I can't just show up to pick up my computer repair. It's fixed. No. They want to confirm an exact time.) Understandably, it's a very small store in the middle of a Pandemic. - Multiple discussions on purchasing their anti-virus software. No thanks! Really, NO THANK YOU (I told you I have one already.) - Small store. Limited selection. - Website seems outdated (think: 1980's!) - Expect a week for any repair. - The property/business center is in very poor condition (needs some upkeep). The business is easy to miss. - Banker's Hours (Mon - Fri, 10a - 05:30p; Some limited Saturdays) On the fence: - So much idle conversation. Are they really just being friendly? Or are they trying to build rapport for more sales? - Yes -I understand you could also upgrade this & upgrade that & replace this too! I really just came in for you to do this ONE thing, please. On my last visit, I ended up spending over $400 for a laptop repair. They convinced me to also add a complete diagnostic, which led to advising me to upgrade my HD to a SSD. To be completely fair, I agreed to the additional work. -It's like: I can't be mad at the mechanic for advising me about additional work needed to my vehicle. It's my choice to make the recommended repairs or keep driving my car as-is. I've come to Cooper Systems before when looking for a deal on a new laptop. In the end, I always end up going to a big-box store for new purchases (shame on me!) I consider myself a tech guy. I've even replaced some minor items in laptops (e.g. upgrading RAM.) But Cooper Systems is truly GREAT at computer repairs and building a system for your needs. The issues I listed are minor and I'm sure I will visit Laura again. I recommend that you visit them, too! (Just call ahead! LOL!) Update: Don't forget to check-in on Yelp. I did when I was leaving & found I missed a coupon! (Sad Face Emoji!)
