Did a tandem for charity, we ended up rebooking three times. The time we did actually get to jump we ended up waiting for over six hours. Four hours of constant waiting we went to the office to asked. Only to be told they didn't know and it would only be soon. Almost as if I was some sort of invonvenience to them. when we'd paid £100s each had to travel back and forf home to severl times. A more diplomatc person who I thikn wasnt staff told us it should be soon. Soon turned out to be another hour and halkf. When the weather closed in. We still jumped but into a rain cloud. Hi my name is debi opolli, I did a tandem skydive on the 26th march 2011 for charity OMG amazing, i am so proud of myself haha!! at first the wind was really bad so we thought it may have been canceled, well i was gutted so i sat in my dads car for about 2hrs eating BIG MISTAKE ha! we got back and everyone was being shouted to get ready, at thid point i was really excited.... "Debi Opolli" woo hoo "thats me, it's my turn" so i go and get ready and meet the man who was in charge of my life for the next 20 mins or so steve, he strapped me up and he was really funny really made me feel relaxed, so walking to the plane, well me and steve skipped all the way it was funny. On the plane steve just went through the routine to make sure i understood what i was doing, check!! Ready!, Steady!, GO ........ we jumped what a feeling it was boss loved it on my dvd i am smiling all the way through it ... flying through the sky when the parachute open was totally overwhelming i felt like crying but im hard i kept them in haha! when we landed i was so gutted i wanted to stay up there for ever... Well my boyfriend did a tandem sky dive for charity so I went along to watch him. We got there at ten in the morning and it was so sunny. It was pretty full and they were sending people to jump 6 at a time. I thought that was fair enough, my boyfriend would probably be jumping in the next couple of hours. 3 o' clock he jumped! I was sat in the sun for 5 hours! It's safe to say I got burnt. At about half two I went into the office to see what kind of order they were jumping in. The office staff said they jumped in order or the time they came in. When I told her that we'd been there since ten she just said "well some people have been here since eight" in a very matter of fact manner. This definately did not fill me with confidence. I told her I would like to know how far up the list my boyfriend was. She replied "well by coming in here asking us this you are holding us up another ten minutes" I asked why to which she said "it will take us ten minutes to find the list and then find your name we're looking for" At this point I lost my temper I asked how she felt it was my fault that people were waiting five hours when they were clearly unorganised if it takes them ten minutes to find a name on a list. At this point another, more friendly member of staff said that the name was next on the list and they would be jumping in the next ten minutes. I went and sat back down outside. The friendly staff member is a liar. It was half an hour until they jumped. My boyfriend said it was worth waiting for and that he loved it so I think I'll let them off. read more
