I highly recommend smooth, soft and gentle and so tasty. She's so honest. She gave us a small nanny's snack mix and told us she gave us the left overs. But would bring us the full one. Here's a unique place to visit in Hobbs, NM: Black Gold Distilling. I purchased a signed collector's edition of their 1st edition platinum rum ($80.11). Because of this, I was invited to their soft opening night on Friday, April 11, 2025. Exclusive distillery tours were provided by the father-son owners only to those who bought a 1st edition bottle. The tour was short and sweet, yet, interesting and informative. Key takeaways: * This is primarily a RUM distillery, which is in large part distinctive to New Mexico... why? Because the duo was told there wasn't any good rum in the Land of Enchantment. They wanted to change that. * Their rum is on the lighter, sweeter side. * They want to someday distill their own vodka entirely. Right now they are purchasing vodka, then re-distilling it to infuse their own flavors. * They legally cannot call it tequila because this is Nuevo Mexico not Old Mexico, but they make something like it. Lol. * They have plans to make their own whiskey, but probably won't bottle it - just sell it in cocktails in their future cocktail lounge. * The cocktail lounge is not open yet. We are an older couple. We are local to Hobbs. We're very generous. We tipped the staff $150. And when the new server came in, she demanded a tip from my wife and I and embarrassed us in front of the entire establishment. We have supported this place since it first opened, and it was very heartbreaking to be treated this way and management sided with the server. myself nor my crew will ever be coming back to this place again you owe my wife an apology. read more
