I had seem a friend of mine with something similar and she had told me her parents had made it specially for her at Marion's for her 18th birthday. I'm not an artist so I had to talk them through my idea, which worked out fine. Filled with a treasure trove of distinctly modern pieces with a good mix of precious stones and innovative materials such as silver, titanium, platinum, enamel, plastics, silk, gold and even paper. I love how going through the generous display cabinets, while examining the inspiration behind some of the most talented jewellery designers. Check out the intricate pieces by Kathryn Wardill, Nicola Bannerman, Jennifer Braithwaite, Linda Hues and Jin Ah Jo. We walked out with a bold silver collar and simple drop earrings, after having spent hours agonizing over our choices. Throughout the painful process the sales assistants were wonderful, offering great advice in regards to different pieces, as well as colour combinations to match my dress. Peter Arnold is a kooky man with a strange sense of humour who managed to take in exactly what I wanted and turn it into my dream engagement ring. The carat and clarity of my diamond meant the ring I have would have cost three thousand dollars more than I paid had I brought it from a store. We also got our wedding rings made through him, as well as a ring left to me from my grandmother into a peal ring.
