Roadside pullout
This lookout is one of Bryce Canyon's less-visited overlooks (located between the 16 and 17 mile). Maybe because it's too close to the Rainbow Point (the most southern viewpoint) where you just spent maybe an hour or so viewing the spires and the canyon from the two viewpoints, probably picnicking too. Black Birch Canyon happens to be the first roadside pullout on the start of your return trip north. Who'd want to stop and get off the car again? Well, we did. Here we got a nice view of the southern part of Bryce Canyon but it's almost like viewing it from Rainbow Point. We spent a total of 5 minutes here... maybe even less.
Just a few spaces to park so you can make a quick stop and see down below 8,750-foot viewpoint the rows of hoodoos. It has a paved, flat trail as you make your way towards the rim. There are no restrooms, no picnic area, no hiking trail or any kind of services here... nothing, just the view.
