When you make the reservation (and you really should make a reservation), you choose where you want to dine. The menu also differs, depending on where you sit. On the ground floor, that's the restaurant. I've dined there the most. I love trying their cocktails and their bitterballen aren't that bad. You almost can't go wrong with the dish that you choose; they also change and rotate so it might already be a different menu. I sat upstairs once. It was a small plates sharing menu with more cocktails to try! In other words, it was a more extensive cocktail menu. Every time I've been the food and the cocktails have been excellent. They also have beer in case you just want to do that. The decor is fun and quirky with an Indiana Jones/Jungle Cruise flavor. I would highly recommend getting a reservation if you're in Groningen.

It would be 5 stars, if they had good wine. The wine they sold in glasses was of poor quality (like a 4€ bottle in a supermarket) and this is why they don't get 5 stars. You could taste the sulphites and the only wines (two kinds) sold per glass were either sweet or semi-dry. I would gladly pay more for a decent glass, because the food deserves it.

This is a gastro-pub style restaurant in the heart of a busy college town. They have many beers on tap including a full bar. We started with a salmon "stacked" appetizer which was smoked salmon with very thin crisp crackers in between and some shaved cheese - it was very light and delicious. I then chose a sea bass cooked in a salt shell which came out moist and delicious. The server filleted it for me and it came with some vegetables on the side. A delicious light meal which was perfect after a long day of international flying.

I don't want to overstate things but her pakhuis might be the coolest place to eat in all of Groningen! --- chhhhhallenge!

As apart of my study abroad experience I have decided to try new things. I am so happy that I did. This is a fabulous restaurant, small yet chic. I would have to say this restaurant would be perfect for date night. The dining area is large with elegant lighting and decor. Floor to ceiling windows gives this restaurant a New York City vibe, so I would say it doubles as a nice spot for people watching. The food was fantastic. As this was my first time I decided to go small. I ordered Piek Kai (marinated chicken wings), and Tom Yum Kai (a Thai version of chicken soup). These items were flavorful with just the right amount of spice. Neither over cooked nor under cooked, the chicken was crispy and delicious. I also feel the prices were very reasonable. My order came to 12,20 euros. Not bad at all for a soup and an appetizer. I would have given this restaurant five stars had I not have had to pay for a to go bag.
