We wanted a quick little session for some family photos when my son was around 1.5 years old. The weather was starting to warm up and we wanted to capture some actual photos of us all that weren't taken with an iPhone. Paul and I set up a quick session for a day/time that worked well with weather and found a nice spot to meet up for photos. I did say my son was 1.5 years old right? So he was not thrilled about sitting still for photos. Paul's ability to grab candid shots, entertain a toddler, and even make the impossible task of capturing a rambunctious toddler on camera happen almost seamlessly. My wife was so blown away with the photos Paul took, she immediately told me we will have to go back and have another session when our son is a bit older. Extremely unprofessional and hard to work with!…read more Elisha Orin was supposed to be our photographer for our wedding on St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands. Unfortunately, my fiancé and I had to ultimately make the very difficult decision to cancel our wedding, due to multiple consequences following the devastation of the Caribbean Islands left by hurricanes Irma and Maria. - The below are only a couple of examples of Elisha Orin's extremely unprofessional email correspondence and lack of compassion. - While planning our wedding (before the hurricanes), Elisha reached out to me and asked us to CHANGE OUR WEDDING DATE, so that she could take another job in Thailand a couple days before our date. We found this extremely unprofessional of her, just to even ask me to change our wedding date, but told her we will not be changing our date. This was 3 months after we hired her and at this point, our planning was in full force and we had already sent out our Save The Date's. I explaind this and told her we would like to keep her as our photographer. However, I ultimately left if up to her to decide if she was going to take the Thailand job and, if so, to let me know ASAP so that I could find a new photographer. She decided to stay on as the photographer of our wedding. After the hurricanes (and having to cancel our wedding) I emailed her asking to have some compassion for our situation and refund our deposit. She then proceeded to hold the fact that she was no longer able to accept the Thailand job against us, and named that one of the reasons she wouldn't give us our deposit back. *Email response from Elisha: "I tried to see if i could book the thialand wedding that i had talked to you about previously but they have now moved on to another photographer. I cannot refund your money at this time." In response, I reminded her that in one of her initial emails, she had stated (regarding our deposit): "If there is something tragic I will consider giving it back as well. but we are not going to think about anything like that. hope this all helps". In this same email I also wrote that in an attempt to move forward we are no longer having a wedding, therefore we couldn't give her a future date to put our deposit towards. To this, she responded that "Tragic is when someone dies like a parent or finance, sibling. you will still get married and i will apply this to your wedding. I will not refund your deposit.", showing that: 1. she does NOT consider two major hurricanes destroying the Caribbean and affecting millions of lives as "tragic"(!!) and 2. she did not care to actually read what I wrote in my email about no longer having a wedding. We did not simply cancel her services due to a "change of plans". This was two extreme natural disasters forcing us to make an extremely difficult decision. Even though we eventually did decide to relocate our wedding, We definitely did not trust her to be our photographer and we simply had to cut our losses and move on. In retrospect, it is obvious that Elisha Orin cares much more about the money she makes off of her clients, than having compassion and working WITH her clients. Even though we lost our deposit, I am actually happy that in the end she was NOT our photographer. If I were you, I would think twice about hiring her for your special day.

Her pics are either really close up or very far away. Doesn't pose the kids, I'm all for non posed pics however when it's for dance that's completely different. The lighting is always bad. I take better pics. Her new thing is she puts these extremely heavy watermarks on her digital images so you can't print them out. While I understand that concept, these were so obnoxious me and my sister both said the same thing about our kids pics. We couldn't really tell what we were purchasing. So blurry. When I contacted her she said replied with, adorable, lots of smiles. Sure, because she can actually see them, I can't. What would she say, oh they look awful? When telling her I couldn't really tell due to the watermark, she ignored me and never emailed me back again. I think she just assumes if parents want a pic of their kid in their costumes that bad they will pay for it. And she would be correct. Here I am after going back and forth with frustration ended up giving in and purchasing the 3 I felt looked decent. When the watermark was removed after I paid of course, I wish I haven't done that. Should have went with my gut on this one and not purchased. Each digital download was $35 or you get 5 images for $100 as a package deal. I couldn't even pic out 5 good ones out a total of 34 images she took. Save your money. Hire someone else. If her studio has her come back, I definitely won't be sending my daughter in on pic day. Waste of good hair, costumes, and makeup.

I had seen Jessica's work on Facebook and was referred by a friend who had nothing but great things to say. I purchased a large photo package which included maternity photos and pictures of my baby right after she born, at 3, 6, 9, and 12 months. I knew what I wanted my photo package to look like and Jessica was very accommodating. Good photos aren't cheap, but I found Jessica's prices to be comparable to other photographers. Our first photo shoot was done outside. My son didn't cooperate at all, but she still managed to get great pictures. Our second photo shoot was for my daughter's newborn photos and that was done in her studio. The studio was a clean professional space that was decorated very nicely. One thing that I love about Jessica is the number of photos she gives you. You definitely get your money's worth! Jessica also prides herself on getting you your photos on time!
