Being in a bind and having to use a laundromat, I tried this one a few times. The first time, I…read morefelt the prices were fair. However, the place was cringy dirty, including the neglected, antiquated machines. Several machines were out of order as well, making it impossible to do laundry if there there were more than a few people there. I decided not to go back unless absolutely necessary. Later, I heard the place was under new ownership, so I thought I'd check it out. Prices have tripled, which might be worth it if the place were renovated, but no. They've replaced a few washers and removed a bunch, leaving a deficit. The dryers are the same ones, which appear to be from the seventies. They are dirty, and I would say overpriced, but since there are not many washers and the dryers aren't worth using, price is irrelevant. The new owners seemed to have tried to paint, yet there's still a feeling of cringe when you walk in. Sadly, I believe this establishment will have a difficult time staying open unless they manage to clean the place up and get new, working machines. Hopefully they will, as this area needs a decent laundromat.

Laundromat was recently purchased from owner. Since then, the cost of washing has increased .50 on…read moresmaller machines, and a couple dollars on the triple load washers. That's not the worst part. It used to be .25 for five minutes in the dryer, and now costs .75 for five minutes. Not only that, but I believe they have turned down the heat on those dryers as well, if that's possible. Perhaps lowering available electricity to them. Worst of all? Most of the machines are from the 50s and 60s far as I can tell. You'd be better off washing in your sink and drying on a line across your room. It would take less time, anyway. If you have the means, drive to London or Richmond. The cost in fuel will be saved simply drying one load of laundry. If you don't have your own means of transportation, pay a friend to get you there. It will STILL be cheaper overall. Previously, I spent about $25 to wash and dry about two weeks of laundry. This last trip I had to pull my Laundry at $50, and bring it home to dry because of how expensive and crappy the dryers seemed to perform. My guess is the new owners are trying to operate at a loss so they can recover whatever purchase price they gave, at tax time. If you're on a fixed income, sorry! New Owners don't care about the clientele. Per their own employee, they have been told numerous times about how price gouging was horrible and would redirect faithful customers elsewhere. Their response? So what. Hope they go out of business honestly.
