The check out is a maze to get to the cashier but it was quick and friendly. Finally, the bathrooms were super clean!!

If this has been around since long then I have been too self involved to notice it..... Armed with everything I had in mind, I walked out with the biggest smile. Macy's is a great store if you're from a past generation and have older traditional values. These days they seem republican and antiquated and their prices are high and they're not moving things into the future at the same pace as the likes of JC Penney, which aren't themselves the most amazing, but at least they're getting some things more right than Macy's. This particular location is the first ever discounted Macy's in Houston, think the Macy's equivalent of Nordstrom Rack or something like that, maybe Saks Off Broadway. So you'll find much better deals here than at the regular Macy's, and that's why I gave them three stars. It's good to have this chain in Houston, but as Barbie will attest, the clothes for women are not the greatest, and even with all the discounts, they're still not cheap enough to tempt us to buy them.

I found some children's books for .50 each. Toys are sold according to weight (???) Tons of DVDs, household items, clothing, etc. The main thing I didn't like was the attitude of one of the workers. I found a dresser that I was interested in but it didn't have a price sticker. So I asked one of the workers and he rattled off $69.99 without even looking at the one I wanted. Then we walked over there and he was like, "You wanted this little one, right? It's $69.99." I'm sorry but $70 for a USED dresser with scratches and whatnot seems HIGH (Better than Salvation Army's $200 ones but still, $70 is high). Regardless, his attitude just seemed so arrogant. Didn't sit well with me. BUT, the silver lining is that I did find a pair of $170 Rock Revival jeans for $6.99. I'll come back.

We came in for some cards. Love that they're 2/$1. Selection wasn't the greatest but it was ok. Seems bigger than the shadow creek location. Workers were ok. Not overly friendly but not rude either. Lines took a bit longer than expected but apparently EVERYONE was buying graduation balloons. All in all, a decent Dollar Tree.

I've noticed that since the store has become Eco Thrift, the pricing has gotten completely unreasonable for me. I went in yesterday to browse around for knick knacks and purses and they had bags that were in such poor shape listed for $59.99 just because they were brand name. They had some scarves hanging up from the Dollar Tree for $5.99 when they are $1.25 brand new at the Dollar Tree. I realize not everyone knows that but I would hate to see someone purchase one only to see they could've had 4-5 for that price from the Dollar Tree. I think if you're able to catch some of the colors of the week (they have 25, 50 and 75% colors) you may walk out with something that is a reasonable price but otherwise I recommend you check out some of the other thrifts and save your time.

I came here to pick up items for a coat drive and needed gloves and socks. They had both in stock, which was great. Even though it's called Dollar Tree, nothing is actually a dollar anymore. The socks were $1.50 and the gloves were $1.50, so it seems like most items are that price now unless you shop the special aisle where things cost a bit more. Still, everything felt like a good value for what I needed. I did need a little help finding the gloves, and the cashier was friendly and pointed me in the right direction. The store wasn't too dirty, especially considering how busy it was. Overall, it was a good experience and I would definitely go back.
