The staff was great. Many spoke great English and were more than helpful…read more The hotel has pretty decent food for breakfast and the lobby is a nice environment. The rooms are why I have to give 3 stars and not 4. They look like they have been preserved from 1978. No AC, telephoned are primitive, operator is the front desk worker (hard to find her when the desk is busy) I will say this, the beds are comfortable and clean, and there are plenty of plugs. YOU WILL NEED TO BRING YOUR OWN ADAPTER!! There is a shopping area less than a mile away. Short, safe and pretty walk. I would come back.

We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights our first night we quickly dropped our luggage of and went out…read moreto sitesee, when we came back later on that evening we noticed the room was full of cobweb spiders and bugs over the beds. I wish I could show the pictures but for some reason this website won't let me post them. I hate to not recommend this hotel to anyone as it was a nice Hotel. We unfortunately had some personal items that were taken out of the room. On top of the cobwebs we also found an old pair of women's underwear on the heater which made the room stink that we hadn't notice until the next morning. When we were going out for the day we went to the front desk which the young lady we were talking to was quite rude and we asked to have our room cleaned from the underwear and cobwebs when we came back later on that evening the room was not cleaned we had to go down to the front desk again and ask to have somebody come up and clean this stuff out of our room. This unfortunately was at 10:30 in the evening when they came up they cleaned it they apologized however it wasn't until they left we realized that our personal items were removed. We again the next morning went down to the front desk to advise them and ask to speak to a manager. There was never a manager available when asked to speak with them. If you don't speak Deutsch stay away from this hotel

Short story: decent. Tons of options on menu…read more Long story: Café del Sol is a large restaurant across the street from the Wyndham Garden hotel. It must be beautiful in the summer because it stretches over a spacious property with tons of parking too. I walked in basically with no expectations after reading unenthusiastic reviews. There are no other options around the area that got any praise from visitors so I settled for just a warm meal. Ask for an English menu ;-) The menu is varied, from breakfast favorites to burgers, pizza, pastas, salads etc. it's a mixed bag where you even see Indian dishes or Thai curry and local stuff too. They have a full alcohol bar and beer on tap and quite a few options for vegetarians and vegans! Del Sol only serves a local brand of soft drinks called Sinalco. It's not terrible, but it's not the original so bear that in mind if ordering a soda. I ordered a creamy Indian soup to start. Soups went for €5.60-€5.90. For a quiet afternoon it took long to get that soup... it was decent. No high quality ingredients but tasted nice. My main was a red Thai curry that comes as a vegetarian dish (€9.80) I added sliced chicken breast to that (+€3.00). That also took pretty long to get to the table. The dish had little to do with curry or grilled chicken, but it was decent. Nothing to write home about but fills you up with nice coconut cream taste and warmth. Service was good!! Attentive staff was nice and spoke good English. Tipping in Germany is 10%. All in all Cafe del Sol is decent, especially since you're trapped here in terms of options. A rental car here would come extremely handy and I'd say is the best way to get around in these parts of Germany. Taxis are crazy expensive (a 1km ride cost me €10).
