Firstly there's a Tapas menu and a Turkish influence on the food (Turkish owner I was told) but the head Chef is Portugese? So I imagine some Portugese flavours seep into the mix at some stage. As we enter into the 16th year of the 21st century I presume innovation in foodie collaborations will lead to more places like this. Onto the food.. The tapas menu is nothing short of fantastic. The breads are baked fresh onsite and are delicious. The Filetitos (strips of lamb fillet I think?), Pan seared Scallops with clams and the Gamberoni Pilpil (prawns) are sensational choices from the tapas menu. I for one cannot wait to rattle out a full blown review upon my return when I'll no doubt goorge on the Beef Stroganoff which I hear is divine. So watch this space...

Eating goat's cheese brings me as much joy as sniffing Big Billy Goat Gruff after he's been in the gym, something I first discovered in the restaurant that's so good they named it twice, Tapas Tapas. A combination of agreeable staff and out-of-the-way location make this the ideal place to get gradually sozzled on wine and bask in the warm wooden coziness and brick-walled splendour of a restaurant with enormous amounts of quiet humility. Still, I'd rather shoot a sprout off my dog's head with a flamethrower than try the goat's cheese again.

The menu is split into different sections of: Little bits Little plates Little sides Little lunch We ordered from the Little bits and Little plates section and they were fairly similar in size. We had the Artisan bread and the Crispy Squid from the Little bits section. From the Little Plates we got the: Chicken kiev Tempura cod cheeks Lamb rump Crispy Belly Pork - we ordered 2 of these and good job! All the dishes were really good. Some delicious. In particular the cod cheeks and belly pork. The lamb was tasty and tender. The only thing which was not at least really good was the chicken kiev - it was OK, just not really good. Paid parking is at the lot behind the street, or there's free parking before the stop light. The small plates are similar to the Spanish tapas, but the dishes serve are local specialties. Entrees ranged from 6-8£. We ordered the welsh rarebit, bread with roasted garlic (not in picture), garlic and chili king prawns, spinach broad bean pie, and slow roast lamb shoulder. The quantity is small (as it is a small plate restaurant), but 3 entrees and 2 appetizers can satisfy 3 people. Each dish was well-cooked, with its own unique taste. Definitely recommend this place, and if I'm going back to Wales, will definitely come eat here again!
