She manages inventory and organization of this huge collection. She was just darling and I felt privileged to get so much of her time. We arrived at the restaurant as soon as it opened to be informed that without a reservation we couldn't be seated (there was no option to reserve online and no working US phones between my sister and I that could call-out) Despite this, the staff was kind enough to allow us to be seated on the terrace and provided us blankets to use as it was very chilly the evening we went and they weren't even seating people on the terrace for dinner service. I guess you could say we were the black sheeps of their dinner service that night :) Our pasta course and main meat entree course were both absolutely delicious. We started with the maccheroncini pasta with lamb ragu and mushrooms that was out of this world. Then we moved on to veal cheek that was served with a carrot puree and some type of celery based cream. All of the flavors when combined in one bite perfectly accented the veal (which was cooked to a tender perfection.) For dessert, upon our waiter's recommendation, we had the pistachio lava cake with homemade lavender ice cream which unfortunately ended an otherwise delicious meal on a flat note. Our waiter said he felt it was the most underrated dessert on the menu but I feel it's just the most undesirable. The hot pistachio lava center was just TOO much pistachio for me and the lavender ice cream left something to be lacking. Unless you just REALLY love pistachio take a pass.

There are a few seats for groups to relax and eat. A little farther is a vending machine with local wine and glasses. Along the vineyard rows are standing bars for you to eat and rest your food and glasses on a flat piece of wood. The stay at the hotel itself was so lovely as well. In summary - Pros: - Easy check-in process - able to park right up at the front (temporarily) and unload luggage - Friendly, helpful staff - most of them (all of the front desk and restaurant staff though) speak English - Great room (alcova) with lots of light and lots of space for the wedding party to get ready - Strong wifi in common areas, such as the reception area and lounge - Lots of options at breakfast - hot/cold drinks, continental food items, and hot food such as eggs and bacon - La Fucina restaurant, Donatello Bar, museums, and other areas are fun to explore and hang out in - 24h funicular (cable car) - Lovely spa amenities, easy to book Cons (ish): - The room wasn't fully cleaned until the last day - only the bed was made and the bathroom was cleaned, but the trash bag placed by the door wasn't removed - The room was right below Sansovino Restaurant and so there was lot of noise when tables/chairs were being moved, especially early in the morning - Wifi in the room wasn't usable unless standing next to the door or window - Gelateria was always closed I would give more than 5 stars if I could.
