They surprised us with a bouquet roses in our room and strawberries, champagne and martinelli's sparkling cider on our anniversary night. I was also impressed with Sandi's willingness to accommodate my dietary restrictions. I am on a low-carb diet. Sandi made low-carb pancakes for me and made a fresh strawberry topping for them. They were delicious! The omelets and fresh fruit she made for us were delicious too. I highly recommend the Wolf Manor!

The yard where the ceremony was in direct sunlight from 9:00-6:00 which made for a very hot and miserable day--we were asked to stop coming inside of the house to preserve the air conditioning. I would not recommend the stay or having a wedding here--it is far too expensive for the subpar service you get!

While Autumn is in full effect, East Coast post Sandy style, I dream of the khaki desert, and that 1930s Art Deco Frank Lloyd Wright one of a kind on-top-of-the-hill oasis in Holbrock, AZ. I'm eating pretzel chips and hummus paired with a semi domestic fridge-fresh brew as I write this, thinking about how it all started. My husband was tired after driving 500 miles and committed himself to the "National Geographic" (meaning the painting above the bed was done by a National Geographic Artist) bed for a disco nap. Feeling jumpy after sitting in the car all day, I grabbed my camera and the one beer I salvaged from Mother Road Brewing Co. in Flagstaff, AZ ready to explore our new pad for the night. Making my way to the kitchen hoping to ice my beer, I ran into Randy, one of the proprietors. He invited me to have some wine in the garden area, whenever I wanted. "...How about now?" would be my auto answer to a question of that nature. We talked about family, his previous profession, beer, and life in the dessert. An hour had passed. He left for a few minutes and came back with a family sized tub of hummus, and some Mexican beer, because he thought I might appreciate something a little different than Bud Light. We were on beer 3, Linda, Heward House owner and wife of Randy, joined us. The first time I ever learned to adore a Texan drawl is from Linda, an incredibly energetic, emotional and intellectual genius. Soon, my husband joined us, dewy eyed from his afternoon hiberation. All four of us together, I felt like we were a big happy family. We talked about government, social security, national debt, real estate, life, and all the funny mishaps inbetween. Another couple, newlyweds from Kansas, arrived, fresh from touring. We left for Italian food in the high dessert. We came back with stomach aches remedied by more delightful conversation with the middle aged Kansan newlyweds and Randy and Linda. More stories involving Jonny Dep's stay at the house (which happens to be the same room we stayed in) and what Randy would cook for breakfast: biscuits and gravy, hatch chile scrambled eggs, hash browns, and fresh fruit. Coffee was delicious and I cannot wait to return. If you are heading to the Petrified Forest, or driving Route 66, this is a must stop.

Greg and Janet were wonderful hosts, as were their three very friendly dogs, Nora Turk and Zeus. There are places in a wonderful location at the end of the road. But it's only a few blocks from Woodland reservoir, a wonderful place for the family. The park has a lake and a hiking trail that goes completely around the lake and a lot of play equipment for kids, as well as two disc golf courses. Each of their guest rooms have a private bath, and the rooms are furnished and decorated with items that they repurpose from other locations, giving it a very homey feeling. Each room has its own private entrance as well as an outside sitting area to enjoy the surroundings. Each day, Janet prepared an excellent breakfast meal. Not one of your typical B&B continental breakfasts. The Inn is located less than a mile from the White Mountain Nature Center. I highly recommend taking in the rapture experience. There are several Forest Service hiking trails just minutes away. In addition, there are several restaurants for lunch and dinner nearby.

It has 2 very big full pillows and 2 somewhat thinner pillows but I travel with my own pillows so I didn't test them. They look good unless you need very flat or soft pillows. If so bring your own old flat goose down like I do. (:-) I took a LOT of pictures of everything. Especially the breakfast foods. There is no hot breakfast. Just YUMMY stuff. Breakfast is in the lounge and all the rooms are well marked when you walk around. Nobody is onsite. Everything has codes to unlock. You receive a very helpful text with everything you need to know. Keep your phone with you when you leave the room in case someone locks a door that's usually unlocked and you can't remember the code. The LOUNGE is easily found as you wander. If I lived near here I would call this a great place for a ROMANTIC GETAWAY. They even have a wine bottle opener in the lounge. And of course a 2 person jacuzzi can be quite romantic although it would also have been therapeutic for my old bones and muscles all by myself! There are old fashioned touches like DVD players in the rooms and DVD movies to borrow in the lounge. There are also some games and nice game tables and chairs to play games in the lounge. Charming Stay at the Heritage Inn - Twice in One Week!…read more We initially chose the Heritage Inn in Snowflake, AZ based on a Hotels.com search. It looked charming and was reasonably priced--and it more than lived up to our expectations. This is a delightful little inn where each room is uniquely decorated with its own color or theme. There is no on-site staff, but check-in is easy with a code provided, similar to many vacation rentals. Our rooms were tastefully decorated, and the beds were extremely comfortable. The guest lounge is modest but well-stocked with snack foods, which also serve as the continental breakfast. It's not fancy, but everything is high quality and thoughtfully presented. One great amenity is the Tesla destination charger. Just be sure to arrange in advance to have it turned on. During our first stay, I didn't ask ahead and couldn't find it, but the next morning the staff quickly responded and turned it on. On our return trip a week later, we booked again last minute. Even though the staff had gone home for the day, they still found someone to come back and activate the charger for us--outstanding customer service! We've now stayed in both the Red Roost and the Blue Denim rooms. Both are adorable, but we slightly preferred Blue Denim--it's downstairs, a bit roomier, and has a comfortable easy chair. The price difference is minimal and worth it, though we wouldn't hesitate to stay in any of the rooms. Conveniently located, the inn is right next door to Streets on Main, where we had a delicious meal. There's also a highly rated Mexican restaurant on the other side that we plan to try next time. We'll definitely stay here again!

There is only a charger/outlet on the table next to sink area. The air conditioner had one speed and didn't cool very well.. It was only 98 degrees outside..
