Tracey turned on the massage setting on the chair and had a neck roller that was heated. Felt very nice and made me comfortable. You can choose to put on any show on Netflix. They make the crown in house. You don't have to wait 2 weeks for your crown to arrive like some other places. I'm about 36 hours after having this done and do not have any pain or discomfort. Over the weekend was really bad and pain was awful. Monday I called this office and at 7.30 they answered my call. I could go as earliest as 8.20... immediately I was having a root canal and I couldn't be more happier! About the pain? I don't even remember the pain from the weekend. The whole experience was so easy and I didn't feel anything after that. Need to come back for my crown and a cleaning. This office offers their own dental plan which is good to me 299 a year including emergency, 2 cleaning , dsct on other procedures! I really feel blessed I found this place and they could help me!

No offense to dentists, it's just that patients usually spend more time with the hygienist. For me, it's important to have a hygienist who is gentle, personable, kind, and not judgmental. I've found all of that in Ruth! She praises the things I'm doing right, and gently reminds me of the things I could be doing better. I've never felt judged for not flossing enough, because Ruth understands that things happen in life that make us forget or get out of the habit. She's also great with kids! She's patient, kind, and fun, never forceful. She asks permission before doing something, even counting teeth. Kids respond well to that kind of respect. I've had the good fortune of never needing dental work in the three years that I've been going to The Smile Center. Once a year, I get x-rays and an examination by the dentist, Dr. Johnson. (I go twice a year, so the other visit is just a cleaning.) He is always very kind and personable. He talks about his family and hobbies, and asks about mine - he doesn't just look at my teeth and run. He points out potential future problem areas, but doesn't push any unnecessary procedures or products. I very much appreciate that! As for cost, I have shopped around, and the cost of a cleaning and exam is not significantly higher than other places in Bismarck or Mandan. Maybe a little. I don't have insurance, and I pay in full each time, so I can't comment on the availability of payment plans. The front desk staff are also very kind and friendly. I am greeted warmly when I arrive and am wished well when I leave. All in all, every visit has been a very pleasant one for me for the last 3 years.
