There was a Bishops Arms attached to our Stockholm hotel, so one of my colleagues took comfort in a familiar spot when wandering around the city earlier in the week. After being turned away from 3 spots (1 was closed, 1 was out of buns, and 1 was out of meat), it was an obvious and easy choice - pub food, no reservations required, beer, and accepts AMEX.
We got our table for 7, then took turns ordering from the bar. I got a local summer beer (which I mispronounced horribly, but at least one of the bartenders could speak American) and the fish and chips. Food is nothing special, but it is A-OK, and it arrived promptly. Beer selection was a good mix of classics and local specialties and is reasonably priced.
There seemed to be plenty of locals enjoying the Thursday night weather, particularly with the large front windows open. read more
