It's the Montgomery Biscuits official team store that is located inside Riverwalk Stadium. I had to stop by and get some fan gear knowing that it's the AA affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays. We had been gifted a Biscuits baseball in the past. I purchased a couple of t-shirts and a baseball cap with the TB logo, and Monty the Biscuit. I mean, who doesn't love a good buttery biscuit? The service at the shop was great. I wish I could remember the name of the girl who helped me. She was so very helpful in picking out shirts and sizes. She told us that the Biscuits were having a playoff game that evening. I thought about purchasing tickets for the game. It would have been a great experience. They actually sell various kinds of biscuits and biscuit sandwiches at their games. Just something to keep in mind if you happen to be in Montgomery during baseball season. I'm already planning on coming back with my husband next year. Hopefully the Biscuits do well again next year. read more

What a nice minor league ballpark. There are no bad seats here and prices are reasonable. There's lots of local parking...some for a fee, some free but you'll have to walk a few blocks. I caught a game here and the action actually quite good. Kudos to the local boys for taking down the opponent the day/night I was there. read more

This was a amazing MILB Gift shop. Nestled in a charming Historic part of Montgomery, this is well worth visiting just to see the stadium and the sites around it. The only draw back to going here for me was i shelled out 100.00 for my much loved biscuit gear. The shop had tons of in store exclusives. Sweet Thang and I were in the Montgomery area and saw that the Montgomery Biscuits Double A team was having home games against the Jackson (TN) Generals and decided to go. We were motivated by the fact that they were also having a tee-shirt giveaway, (always a crowd pleaser!). The cost of admission was reasonable, the crowd was delightful and the folks working the concessions were very helpful. Riverwalk Ballpark is a gem! There is no other way to put it. There are so many little touches that add to the overall experience, like the big freight train lining up as the little kiddie train runs its route inside the park, Thursday is $2 drink night, they have senior discount ticket rates, and Conecuh Sausage on a biscuit! Family friendly, easy parking, lots of options for dining downtown. Every city should have a park as good as Riverwalk! Thank you, Biscuits Baseball! read more

We took in a Montgomery Biscuits game recently, and it was a wise decision considering much fun was had. The name alone never fails to rustle up a smile! Riverwalk Stadium, as the name suggests, is very close to the "Gun Island Chute" river (according to Google Maps) which you can stroll around after you either street park nearby or park in a pay lot. I'm not very familiar with downtown Montgomery but the neighborhood surrounding the stadium looked charming. The stadium doesn't even look like a stadium from the outside. It's built out of an old railroad station which is super cool. We bought our tickets ahead of time online but the lines at the stadium seemed to move quickly. Don't miss the Biscuit Basket clubhouse for all your Biscuits souvenir needs. Besides various t-shirts and hoodies, there are caps, magnets, mini bats, Christmas ornaments, pencils, nail files, koozies, mugs, mini bats, balls, and so on. The ladies working the registers were super friendly. Do give the edible biscuits a miss. I had the strawberry shortcake biscuits for $4, and the two biscuits didn't really do much for me, probably didn't help that they were drowning in sugary strawberry syrup. Oh well, I just want to say I ate biscuits while watching the Biscuits. There were a lot of promotions going on, such as clearance merchandise at the Biscuit Basket, $2 canned beers, fireworks right after the game, and kids could run the bases too. The game was well attended and the crowd was really into the goings on. I doubt there is a bad seat in the house, though keep your eyes peeled for rogue fly balls. Sadly the Biscuits fell to my team the Barons but it was a wonderful evening for eleven bucks! read more

I was going to a game so I searched and found Biscuits Baseball on Yelp. But it was pitifully lonely without a single review. The Biscuits' logo may have sported a smile, but it was a sad little Biscuit on the inside. So I've written this review to cheer the little mascot up. (I'm not sure if it's a boy biscuit or a girl biscuit.) But why does it take a visiting Free-Stater from Crabtown to write up the Biscuits? I mean, we're practically Yankees up here. That would be like if someone from Canada got a first to review on the Orioles and Camden Yards. Just sayin'. Here's the breakdown: 3 Stars - Weather 4 Stars - The stadium and field 2 Stars - Quality of play 3 Stars - Concessions It was a lovely Monday night in Montgomery. Humidity was way down and the Jacksonville Suns were in town. I can't be certain, but I think they were from the Florida Jacksonville, not the North Carolina Jacksonville. The Jacksonville Suns got trounced 12-2. The Biscuits drilled balls through the gap between short and second base all night. I didn't see any Biscuits, however, that were in danger of being sucked up by the parent Tampa Rays. Looked and and felt like a college baseball game, but in a nice setting. The park was a beautiful facility for a Double A team. The field was very well manicured. It was a very family-friendly environment. Attendance was light, maybe a thousand if that. Hey Montgomerians! Let's get out to the stadium and support your team!! Concessions were adequate in variety and quality. A rather large plastic cup of beer was $5.75. Beer is only $2.00 on "Thirsty Thursdays." Ever wanted to wear a huge biscuit on your head? I did and tried to go buy a biscuit hat from the Biscuit Basket but they were closed on a Saturday. Biscuit Basket, you should really either have the store open or change your hours on the website and tell the visitor's center while you're at it too. They're the ones that told me you would be open and I showed up only to have my biscuit hat dreams shattered. Also, change the dots in your phone number on your website to dashes. I know it looks cool but I can't automatically link to call you from a smartphone because my phone isn't that smart after all and can't recognize the dots on your website. read more

I love baseball at any level. A, AA, AAA, The Show, doesn't matter. I especially like minor league ball; the players play that much harder in order to make it to the next level. How can you not love a team called the Biscuits? With mascots of a biscuit, a pig called Ms. Gravy, and and a biscuit eating monster, the team doesn't take itself too seriously. AA league ball is equivalent to college-level, so the play is fast, aggressive, and fun. The field is a beautiful venue is located right in the middle of the dining and entertainment district of Montgomery, so there's good food and drink aplenty (see my review of the Railyard) in the area. I hope for another trip to Montgomery just to watch them play. Yes, it'd be a 3600 mile round trip, but it'd be worth it. read more

I really should be a Wahoos fan coming from the Panhandle but after college in Alabama I had no choice but to root for the little team from Bama's capital with the chutzpah to have an anthropomorphic biscuit as a mascot PLUS Big Mo the Aardvark, a total non sequitur. Before Birmingham built Regions Field, we would actually drive all the way to Montgomery for games (even when the barons were playing at home). That's how great this facility and their entertainment is. As far as minor league baseball goes, it's the best of the best. The concessions were fantastic and even served delicious biscuits. Even the mid inning entertainment was on par with the "best" minor league shows in the country. The park itself is beautiful and perfectly located in between the river and the new entertainment district. After games, you have to choice of heading down to the sand filled river side or walking to the popular new bars across the street. Even though Birmingham has now caught up with this amazing stadium, I'd still love to go back. Go Biscuits/Barons! read more

One of the better ways to spend an evening in Montgomery. The Biscuits are the AA affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays, and have transformed a once run down Downtown area of Montgomery. The ballpark is a staple of downtown, and is one of the best minor league parks I've been to. I would say food choices are above average, though booze is the typical $6 Michelob Ultra. The people watching at this ballpark is always a solid B+. Overall, my girlfriend and I love spending evenings here, and often cheaper than going to a movie these days. read more

We loved watching the biscuits waste The Mississippi braves last night and it couldn't have been a more perfect evening for a game. Seats were wet from rain. Knowing it rains nearly every afternoon this time of year, we should have brought a towel to dry seats off but we forgot. Just dried them for with our butts instead! The food wasn't very expensive and they offered a military discount on a hotdog and drink since its military night on Wednesday's. The popcorn was so yummy! AA baseball isn't exactly a draw in and of itself. Hell, even "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" places the focus on peanuts and Cracker Jack, and that's presumably for a major league team. Lacking this, the Montgomery Biscuits pride themselves on kitsch and a newer stadium that offer enough upscale food and drink to keep you plenty happy as you scream and shout for a representative to throw a warm biscuit at you. Whether you're going for the MAX fireworks or any of their other themed nights, they're giving something away, usually food, so it's easy to take advantage. I like to go to the Franx stand and get me a gourmet dog, then follow it up by getting a Back Forty beer from the craft brew kiosk. It's expensive, sure, but at least it's an option. At some point it becomes less about the baseball game being played and more about how many ways you can find to occupy your time, usually in some sort of inebriation. Perhaps this is why baseball is the Great American Sport, but in any case, it makes for a fun night in Downtown Montgomery. read more

This is one great little ballpark! It has a very nice, intimate atmosphere for baseball. There really is not a single bad seat in the place, and its super cheap also, like 10 bucks. Its a nice, well designed park, especially compared to many others I've visited. Parking can be a bit tough since theres no designated parking garage nearby, but it's not tremendously difficult to to find a spot a couple blocks away. The town itself is very nice and quaint with plenty of cool pre and post game hangouts. All in all if you're in the area, I would definitely recommend stopping by and seeing a Biscuits game. This place is pretty cool. Came here during a TDY and I had a lot of fun. Stadium is really close to the base which was really good for us. The game we went to was raining when we first got there, but within about 40 mins it had stopped raining so I am glad we had stayed. I can't remember what inning it was, but they had thrown out biscuits. They had a couple other fun thing durning the innings as well. While Montgomery lacks a professional MLB team, the Biscuits are a sufficient substitute. I just went to the 2013 opening night game and had a great time despite the 0% rain forecast that ended being totally wrong leaving everyone pretty well soaked by the end. The weather was cold and everyone was freezing their butts off but the game was entertaining. There's not a bad seat in the house. I scored seats right next to 3rd base for $10 + $1.50 for online service fees, but this is practically a steal compared to an MLB game. Just make sure to pay attention because balls will come flying your way and there's not much protection against foul balls here. Practically no one sat in their seats to avoid the rain, but the overhang where all the concessions are offers a pretty good covered view of the field. However, it was nice that a guy was walking around with a chamois to help wipe off the wet seats. That's some cool service! Parking can be a bit annoying around the stadium but if you come late enough, you can disregard a lot of the meter parking after 6pm I believe. There isn't a parking lot for the ballpark that I know of, but you can easily find street parking within a few blocks with no problems. Our group pre-gamed at the nearest watering hole: The Railyard Brewery. It's a great place that's really close to the ballpark if you don't want to pay for not-as-good ballpark food and beer. However, feel free to pick up some biscuits....because....well, the team is called the Biscuits! All in all, we had a great time. There are a lot of promotions and we got to see some of their opening night fireworks. Most of the crowd left by then because the rain kind of picked up and the Biscuits gave up a grand slam in the 4th inning which they never recovered from but hopefully the rest of the season goes better! read more

Attended the July 4th game at Riverwalk Stadium. The Biscuits won 7-2 and had an amazing crowd of over 6500 people! I am giving it a four star because the fireworks show was delayed, delayed, delayed, and delayed. When they finally performed the fireworks show it was very short. The team did send out an email about the fireworks and that they were sorry for the presentation. On July 18th they will have another show for a makeup of this one. Also since it was July 4th I was disappointed that all the veterans were not asked to stand and be recognized for serving this great country. What a beautiful small baseball park. Every seat is a great seat. There are plenty of parking garages near by and the prices are low to park at them. Very family friendly even has a play area for those children who need to move around for an inning or 2. The staff is helpful and also they keep up the restrooms pretty well. read more
