For the past few weeks I was looking to purchase a nice MDX and all the ones found in our market were overpriced based on their mileage, but beyond that I also wanted one that had a great carfax history too (recorded maintenance records, service, emissions, etc...). After searching for a few weeks, I looked outside of Atlanta and discovered these guys at Birmingham Broker. Unlike a regular car dealership, people who have a vehicle that they want to sell, but without going through a dealership, craigslist, ebay, etc... they can let these guys sell their vehicle for a fee of a few hundred bucks. These guys are straight forward, no pressure type of people and they make buying a vehicle extremely easy. I sent them an email letting them know the vehicle I was interested in, let them know the day and time I was going to arrive in Birmingham from Atlanta and when we arrived, the MDX was sitting out in the front waiting for a test drive. Our sales guy was Keith, he was very friendly and professional and stayed long enough so I could sign off on everything, even though it was his son's birthday. The paperwork took less than 15 minutes and we were in and out in no time. This was definitely the fastest service ever. My only complaint is that 10 days after I purchased the vehicle when I went to register the vehicle at our motor vehicle tax department they said they never received confirmation about the transaction and that I could not register the car yet. I contacted Keith right away through email twice and he never responded back, even though that email address was correct. However, 3 days later the title was mailed to me and I was able to register it in my name. Keith was an OK guy, but he cared more about making money to fuel his hobbies than being an honest salesman. I understand that he is a businessman and he has the right to do that, but that doesn't stop me from warning you. I checked a vehicle out that would potentially need work in the next year worth approximately $5,000 and the most he came down was $500. It's his right to tell me that he had 16 other people call on that vehicle, but it's also mine to say that he isnot the kind of fella I want to do business with. read more

Buying a preowned vehicle is always challenging and buying one from an out of state owner is even more so. While looking for my car, in this case a Porsche 911, on line , I saw a what appeared to be the right car at almost the right price . I spoke with a knowledgeable salesman, Keith Pilston, who advised me that all his cars are consignment vehicles and the Porsche in question was available . There was a lot close up pictures of the vehicle / the car fax was spotless/ and so I did not make a trip up to see it in person. Communications with Keith was very easy and the bank he recommended turned out to meet my needs perfectly . I asked Keith to give me as assessment on the general condition of the car and then when I was satisfied ,made an offer to the owner. The offer was accepted and on completion of the deal had the car Trucked down to my house in Florida. . NOTE . Its is always a good idea to go see the car you are buying . I have to remind my self that there is no used car factories and most preowned cars will have some niggling issues or some minor imperfections.
