    American Breakfast
    Ty E.

Atmosphere was a solid 5, fun vibe and good music. Food was pretty good, we both had a classic American breakfast which was a nice change from much of our European trip. Coffee was good, hash brows were THE BOMB. Unfortunately pancakes didn't feel super fresh, and weren't particularly warm, but the sauce was good. All in all a good breakfast experience.

This is the cutest place I've been to so far in Naples. I've grown tired of the basic pastries from the coffee bars here and I've been craving decedent desserts like cake and cupcakes. This place is exactly what I was looking for. The decor is cute, chic and homely. It's exactly what a little coffee/tea shop should look like. Michael Bublé playing on the speakers was the perfect touch. They have a bar as well as a sit-down section. My husband and I ordered slices of red velvet and double chocolate cake. The cake is dense to the touch, yet melts in your mouth. The icing was nice and fluffy-- not too heavy or sugary. The red velvet was wonderful and everything I hoped it would be. The double chocolate was okay. I don't think I would get it again. Sadly, for being called 'double chocolate', it wasn't that chocolatey. Their menu also has brunch options with selections of sandwiches. A wide variety of drink options including coffee, teas, milkshakes, and my favorite Arizona Tea.

We have been in Italy now for about a month and are deep into our exploration of finding new places to eat. I came across this site on Yelp and I must say the other reviews were spot on. The food was fresh delicious and the waitresses were fast polite and patient. We do not speak Italian but the staff was very helpful. So I had the Energy breakfast I found it to be amazing. Hot fresh omelette with ham and cheese. Yogurt with fruit and grains. Small triangles of toast with cherry jam. My wife and daughter had the French Toast with Nutella I tasted it. "Yummy" has lots of flavor. My son had the eggs and bacon. The bacon here is a little different than the US, but is still very tasty. The orange juice was freshly squeezed kinda a reddish color. I think maybe a blood orange. Very sweet and tasty. As far as the coffee I had a Carmel macchiato with skim milk with two shots of expresso. Very hot and fresh flavor. I recommend this place whole heartedly. Just walking there was a fun adventure.

The bagels and fries were all top notch delicious!

The beautifully preserved interior, with its marble, chandeliers, frescoes, and ornate details, is reason enough to stop in. We visited later in the evening and were pleasantly surprised to find no line or wait. It was a bit confusing at first. There's a few different areas to order and a separate line/section if you want to dine-in. We dined in and got seated at a table right away, but I imagine it's much busier during the day/peak hours. Though there is plenty of seating inside and outside. We ordered a variety of pastries, including the maritozzo con la panna, a sampler platter, sfogliatella, and the famous Delizia al Limone. The Delizia al Limone was what I ordered and was light, fresh, and perfectly balanced without being overly sweet. The lemon flavor was perfect and I was perfectly happy with my choice. The menu also includes coffee, espresso, cocktails, sandwiches, and other light bites. What impressed me most was how affordable everything was, especially considering the stunning setting and the café's reputation. I am from Hawaii though where everything is twice the price, so that may be subjective. While takeout is available, I'd recommend dining inside if you have the time. The atmosphere is part of the experience, and it's worth slowing down to appreciate the history and beautiful art inside their historic walls. Gran Caffè Gambrinus is absolutely worth adding to your Naples itinerary. Between the rich history, beautiful interiors, delicious pastries, and surprisingly reasonable prices, it's easy to see why it has remained one of Naples' most beloved institutions for well over a century.
