Too bad that this volunteer theater group has a reputation of being unprofessional, unorganized and known for doing really bad plays. This would be a great opportunity for newbies to learn how to really work the theater but fall short because of their lack of commitment and procrastination to complete what needs to be done to put on a play. Hopefully, someday they'll get their act together. read more

I love the Birdcage Theatre in Oroville. Let me count the ways. Well, in this town, it's hard to find entertainment. The Birdcage Theatre always has a fun show to watch. If your in the mood for comedy, come to the Birdcage Theatre; If you are in the mood for a scary tale, come to the Birdcage Theatre; if you are in the mood for drama or a mystery, come to the Birdcage Theatre. Not only does this venue have plays and dramas, they now debut other talent: Stand Up Comedy Nights, Magic Shows, and Musicals. Most surprisingly, there is a lot of talent. I have seen some great actors on the Birdcage Stage. If your planning to be in Oroville, this is a must stop place. Carlos Sawyer read more

Amazing display of local talent. Lots of variety in their Seasons. They even work with the YMCA and the " I Wish, a play for healthy habits" so that children have opportunities to be a part of the shows. Definitely worth the price of a Season Ticket! read more

A cute little community theatre. This place has a ton of potential. They put on 5-10 shows a year and most are excellent quality and good acting. This group is 100 percent volunteer run which is amazing! Problem is, some plays are really, really bad. And you don't realize it till you've paid for your ticket or season pass and are watching the show. I've had this happen a few times. The nice thing about the theatre is auditions are open to everyone and they don't charge you to be in a production. So anyone can come out and learn about theatre and how to act, direct, do lights, sound, back stage, all for free. My only recommendation is that if you're coming to see a show, go the 2nd weekend and try to find someone that has seen it to get their take on the quality. It's a definite asset to Oroville, one of "Oroville's best kept secrets." for most of their shows. read more
