It was 91* on this August afternoon and the office, waiting and procedure rooms were clean and very cool not warm or hot at all. I paid out of pocket at checkout and $399.00 was my bill. Yes of course United Healthcare denied my coverage with their explanation "it was determined this service is not medically necessary". Why is allowed that some moron sitting behind a cubicle in Minnesota allowed to override my sports dr opinion and treatment? Anyway, the staff here at MRI of Southfield are friendly, explain things as we go along, professional and accommodating. Just FYI, the same MRI at Henry Ford is $415.00 and they were scheduling into October. We will definitely come back for any imaging needed in the future.

They offered transportation services at no cost and were very prompt with the pickup. I arrived to the office and was immediately assisted. The girls at the front were very welcoming and assured me that I would be seen in just a few minutes. The office has a very comforting environment and vibe where refreshments, snacks and drinks are available to enjoy. It was very quick service and the machine was wide and didn't interfere with my claustrophobia. I was comfortable in it. I was treated very well and will tell everyone about the great experience I received at this facility.

They hung up on me a total of 15 times in the matter of a week, and today I finally had ENOUGH and sat in the office and refused to leave until they sent my CT results to my doctor. The check in was smooth and easy, and the waiting room was very comfortable. Lots of cozy chairs and pleasant lighting. The two receptionists were very polite and put my mind at ease (I was super nervous.) The technician took the time to explain everything to me and put on the music I asked for. This test was to see if the cancer is still in remission. We arrived at Basha Royal Oak to check in, were charged for the visit, undressed, and then told that the test could not be done due to labs that were needed prior to testing. When we asked why we were not given this information as part of the prep instructions, the young man at the front desk said, "It is not our responsibility to inform the patient of the labs it's the doctor's job." I asked for the manager, and the manager and "Mr. Basha" came out and accepted no accountability. He got loud, stating, "It was the damn doctor that ordered the test fault." He then started saying, "I have kidney cancer and prostate cancer too," in front of a lobby full of people. I told him that we were leaving due to him being rude AND violating HIPAA privacy laws, which I will be reporting!!! This place is a joke! GO TO RMI INSTEAD!!!

After calling around to a few places, I decided to come here, and I'm really glad I did! This specific MRI is mobile! It's parked outside and about the size of a semi truck. Well, it is a semi truck, but it's converted, so its huge. There's also a lobby where you go to check in and fill out paperwork with the lady behind the counter. She was super nice, and I was able to actually print the paperwork off their website. That saved me at least a good 15 minutes. I only had to sign on additional document when I got there, so I was ready to go. After a few minutes of waiting, a really nice man came out and called my name. He was SO COOL. He took me out to the machine and we went up on the ramp inside the truck. He opened the door (it looked like a garage door) and there was a little office with all kinds of equipment in it! It was just like a doctors office. I love it! He talked me through what to expect and I had to take off my jewelry, and a few other things. After a few questions and answers, off to the machine! He whipped out the bed and said that it's A) going to make a ton of noise, and most importantly, B) Don't move! I also got to listen to the radio through headphones while I was there. They also have a curtain area if you need to do a quick change. It's not huge, but if you need a private second like I did, it is there. I will say, the machine is super loud, and I could hear it imaging even with the headphones on. The radio wasn't super good, it sounded more like an AM radio. The noise didn't bother me, and the music was a super nice touch. I also had pillows for my head and underneath my knees, which made it slightly more comfortable. Overall, I really actually enjoyed my time here. Kudos to the two guys working the machine, they really did a super job. Warm, friendly and made my day. The whole thing took a little over 30 minutes or so. It flew by, and I was done before I thought I was going to be. Thank you Oakland MRI. Your staff is wonderful and I will recommend you to my friends. Cool beans!

For anyone considering Oakland Regional Hospital on Foster Winter street in Southfield Michigan for…read morephysical therapy, my advice to you is run to another facility. After experiencing a fall, and a brief stint at another hospital, my mother entered Oakland Regional Hospital on 4/10/18 for physical therapy. After about a week, she was able to stand and walk 20 to 40 feet. She was then relocated to another floor for continued therapy and that's when the downhill spiral began. The nurses were good but the aides were abysmal. The expression that you're only as good as your weakest link is so very true and Oakland Regional Hospital certainly proved that. Being tender and sore after her fall my mother said and I quote "They handled my like a rag doll". When I complained to administration, it seemed that her treatment just got worse. In summary, by the time my mother left on 5/22/18, she was unable to stand much less walk.

During the MRI, I was explained what would happen, how long the procedure would take, and received updates regarding how much time was left during the scan. I was also able to have copies of the report faxed to my doctor's office, as well as receive a copy of the report emailed directly to me.
