I also trained in Thomasville Georgia. I helped fire victims get a motel. Food. Clothing. Hygiene supplies. Mostly in the Grady County Georgia area. Thomasville had a surplus of donations during Hurricane Katrina. I took the surplus to the Goodwill in Thomasville. I volunteered during Victorian Christmas for American Red Cross. I rang the Christmas Bell for the Thomasville Salvation Army through the American Red Cross I volunteered at the RemingtonPark field I also had a meeting and training at the Fire Station on Remington Avenue.It was all a rewarding experience. They offered to provide housing, but my younger sister had already invited us to stay with them. They also gave each of us a Red Cross backpack with hygiene supplies like a comb, razor, toothbrush and toothpaste, etc. You have no idea ‍ the value of that backpack until you have NOTHING, and it's so precious to you. The Red Cross provides a service that is priceless. I can't say enough good things about them!!!

Three attempts to become a donor and now he is no longer interested! First attempt was when he showed up Tuesday but they turned him away because they said he had to have an appointment. The center hardly had any donors in there. Well we just went ahead with the appointment but this time when my friend showed up yesterday around 5:30 pm they never bothered to call him saying they had to reschedule. However the receptionist suggested he call today on his lunch break. Totally inept! They never bothered to answer the phone while he persisted for 15 minutes. It's not about helping patients or the community it's about collecting a check. You know what three strikes means.

I have been coming here (10thAveN,in MB) for several months and everything was fine-I had no…read morecomplaints AT FIRST. Then the rude white chick (with the long dark hair) at the front (who's NOT a good communicator) started giving me problems about my mailing address. I was told to bring ''a piece of mail" proving my address. When I did, she said it wasn't the correct piece of mail-it didn't have a postage stamp and it wasn't a bill, so I was turned away for the 4/5th time. (Not my fault the PO didn't put that on there.) Thing is, all my bills are included in my rent, so none of them are in my name. I live in Murrells Inlet & It takes me about 15 miles/1 gallon of gas (1way) for me to get there, so to be turned away all those times that's a LOT of gas (which isn't free) and a lot of unnecessary wear and tear on my 21yo vehicle. Not to mention, it's very frustrating to know I've wasted my my time. I don't understand why after all this time (w/ no problems) now my address has become a problem. It has nothing to do with my blood. The fact that I hardly ever drink alcohol/take prescription meds and I don't do drugs + I'm willing to donate should be the main factors. I took my landlord in there one time and they wouldn't even let her donate because of her age, so my ? is, how is this place staying in business if they're turning so many people (who r willing to donate) away ? It shouldn't be this difficult to HELP others get the plasma they need & keep Grifols in business. I will never go back and I advise you not to waste your time either
