The staff is very professional, and they have nurses on staff all the time. It takes a little more time for new donors, so when you are all done with the initial screening, you get put at the front of the line! My second time was a breeze! Everyone seems to be a master at whatever station or job they are doing, so rest assured! Bring something to read or charge up your cell phone! It only takes about 45 minutes for the whole plasma process. Then they have you wait for 15 minutes, to make sure you are okay, then you are free to go. They give you a debit card and load it with money, while you are still in the chair hooked up to the machine. You are making money and saving lives! WIN/WIN!! Do it!! It hardly even hurts at all!

Then I was hooked up to the plasma machine. I drank plenty of water so it only took 40 minutes to donate my plasma. The phlebotomist was excellent. No pain. My introductory payment offer was $100 per donation for the first 4. Payments are given via pre-paid VISA card. My 5th donation will pay $50. If I donate a 2nd time in that same week, I'll earn $75. I'm used to donating twice weekly, so It's an easy way to spend an hour. I listen to music , podcasts or catch up on emails. If you download the app, you can answer the screening questionnaire at home before you arrive. You'll be given a QR code to scan at the door. Once you're in, you'll be weighed and your vitals will be taken. It goes pretty fast. Make sure to eat a high protein meal before you come and drink lots of water. Your vein will be easier to find and it will flow faster. Make sure to use the bathroom before you're hooked up to the machine. They staff are super nice. They are all there to help.

I do not like needles and they make me comfortable enough throughout the entire process that the needle stick and donation process is comfortable. The snack offerings afterward are great, and today, while doing the platelet donation, they even offered freshly backed cookies! A few days after my donations I can login to my account and see my cholesterol and A1c numbers...great for when you're in between lab work with your doctor. They even text me when my donation is on the way to a hospital to help someone! If you are able, please give blood to help those who need it. Be a hero!
