After I was checked in, I wasn't taken to the pre-screen room until 45 minutes after my appointment. Once pre-screening was completed, then I had to wait again because all of the beds were full! I finally began my donation one hour after my scheduled appointment time. Why were so many people able to schedule appointments around the same timeframe?? I'm happy to donate considering the blood shortage, but I was about ready to walk out. All of the employees were nice and apologetic about the wait time. I honestly feel bad for how overloaded their workload was. It's unfortunate that donating took OVER an hour, which is going to be a major deterrent when it comes time to donate again in the future.

I had to answer 49 questions (literally) about my medical history to update my profile, but I was checked in and ready to give within 20 minutes. They have a whole pit crew of friendly, happy, nice kids working the floor. They set me up and found a vein super quickly. The actual draw took less than 6 minutes. It was welcoming and pleasant throughout, and really couldn't have been easier. They have waters and fruit juices waiting for you, and they're careful to explain anything and everything. Special shout-out to Persephone, who was incredibly sweet and was learning new-to-her skills today. She was awesome, as was everyone else. I gotta start getting in here more often.

Received a nice 5 min or so massage to loosen sore area. Then 4 exercises (ones prescribed to do at home) and 1 stretch. And that was it! Reading through BBB I am scared to see the billing experience I find reported on BBB. I called after my last appointment to cancel all future appointments. And today, if I could refuse payment, I would. Today was absolutely worthless. Giving 1 star but honestly less. They are nice people. But this is not the care I expect.

As an RN myself, I've worked for plenty of these big corporations and I just prefer a smaller, more personal environment. Having said that, although a few things have changed, the important thing is that I have continued to get excellent care and I would never want to go anywhere else. My primary doctor has been Dr. Price for years. I can say with absolute conviction that he is the best family doctor I have ever had. It will be a dark day when he ever decides to retire, but he will certainly deserve it. He is personable, knowledgeable, caring, collaborative and kind. He doesn't rush you. He doesn't just hear you, but he listens to you. You don't feel judged. You don't feel like you're just a number. I dread the day that I have to start over with someone else. He has helped me with both simple and complex issues and I have always felt supported, safe, and that I'm in excellent hands. For appointments that I've needed quickly, and when Dr. Price doesn't have availability, I have also seen his colleagues, Dr. Bobba and Ashlea ARNP. Dr. Bobba is gentle and kind, and also is a great listener. I felt respected and cared for by her. And, Ashlea....I can't find enough positive words in the world to describe how wonderful she is. I've gone to her for "female stuff" as well as for an injury, and she made me feel at ease. She is so incredibly thorough. Her chart notes are some of the most detailed I've ever read in my 23 years of nursing. I feel that as a nurse myself, I can be a tough critic of healthcare providers, and I can honestly say that Ashlea is at the top of her game. She exudes excellence. Finally, Saihou J, DNP has recently joined the group. While I have not had him as my provider personally, we were colleagues in a high acuity hospital setting for several years and he is absolutely amazing. Intelligent, compassionate, professional, and in my top 3 of best coworkers ever. I did have a close friend see him as a provider recently, and before she knew that I knew him on a personal level, she recommended him to me based on how impressed she was herself. Outside of the care I've received, I find the ancillary staff to also be efficient and kind. The facilities are clean. You get called back on time or close to it. I've never had issues with billing. I do dislike that lab and x-ray is no longer there, though. That is my one complaint. Now that this Optum no longer does x-ray in-house like MCFP did (and either does the Town Center location), you have to drive to Silverlake or another location. It was much better when you could get an x-ray and just pop back into your exam room and see the doctor and get answers before you left. The last thing you want to do when you are not feeling well is drive all over the place and wait even longer. I have heard that this js a common sentiment within our community. Also, appointments can sometimes be far out, but I always ask to be put on a waitlist and so far, I've always managed to get an earlier appointment. Suffice it to say that I do not hesitate to recommend this practice to anyone. These providers are simply the best, hands down.

The Handshake Says It All: Unbiased Review of Racial Microaggressions in Healthcare…read more Let me be crystal clear about my experience with Preston Lehr, PA and this dermatology practice: it was unacceptable. As a Black woman, I was subjected to treatment that exemplifies the medical disparities POC face daily in healthcare settings. On my first visit to discuss the removal of skin tags and to have PA Lehr examine my ruptured cyst, his behavior immediately made me uncomfortable. He greeted me with an exaggerated, stereotypical handshake that felt forced and inappropriate--something I guarantee he doesn't do with his white patients in Edmonds. During this visit, he prescribed a powerful antibiotic for my ruptured cyst without mentioning it needed to be taken with food. This potentially dangerous oversight was only caught by my pharmacist, not the doctor who prescribed it. When I returned for my second visit to have the skin tags removed, PA Lehr greeted me with the same uncomfortable handshake. When I asked if the procedure would hurt, his dismissive response that "it's not going to hurt him" was both condescending and unprofessional. I had to specifically ask about aftercare instructions myself--information that should be provided automatically. For my third visit to address the now-calmed cyst, PA Lehr once again greeted me with the same inappropriate handshake. I couldn't help but think: would a 50-year-old white woman, man or non-binary person be treated this way? Absolutely not. During the procedure, he provided minimal explanation and zero aftercare guidance. Only the support staff stepped in to give me the proper information I needed. The support staff was competent, but they can't compensate for a doctor who treats patients differently based on how they look. This is medical racism, plain and simple--not jokes, not lightheartedness, but the exact kind of differential treatment that research consistently shows undermines care for communities of color. I'm giving two stars solely because: 1) The procedures were technically completed and 2) The support staff provided information the PA should have given. I will never return to this practice and strongly advise against it for anyone--ESPECIALLY people of color who deserve healthcare providers who see and respect them as human beings deserving equal care and dignity.
