I went in on Saturday to earn some extra money as my husband is transitioning jobs and school for kids were starting and we needed extra funds to get through. Took over 3 hours to get the physical and start the process of donating which I expected it being the first time at this location. With the initial poke, it didn't feel right but I saw the blood in the tubes so I knew she was probably in a vein and it would be fine. Not even 5 minutes later, the machine was signaling no flow. She messed with the tubes, eventually stating again and it stopped, with a warning of something along the lines of large pressure, she readjusted my needle and blood started to come out of the needle sight and then I could see the size of a golf ball starting to form above the needle sight with extreme pain and hands tingling. I grabbed her for the third time. She took it out saying she didn't know why there was no flow and I could try the other arm or be done without pay. Why would I let you stick my arm again? I said I'm done with this arm and then showed her how I now had a knot and she got a ice pack and when I was asking her why this happened and what was going on she wouldn't give me a direct answer just that she didn't know but needed to get a nurse. Greater than rbc loss and no salene is what I heard her say. Nothing was said or explained to me and I never saw the nurse again after I was given an electrolyte drink. I was sat down for 20 minutes and no one came to me again and eventually I got up looking for someone and told them I needed to speak with a manager because I checked my card when I was there and was only offered $10 for convenience: this was not my fault or my first time donating by any means. Now I have a painful arm almost a week later that seems to be getting larger and worse. The money isn't worth it. They wouldn't acknowledge what the worker did wrong or compensate more than $10 for my time or pain. She just said there was nothing she could do for me and going on hour 4 I just decided to go home to my family and figure out something else. read more

If you are disabled especially hearing impaired do NOT visit!! Corporate policy is a nightmare!! I waited for over an hour for an Internet interpreter to no avail!! Staff was kind corporate policy sux!! Just because I'm deaf does NOT mean my day is yours to exploit!! There are other companies that are way more friendly and ada compliant to the deaf!! And they were majorly understaffed!! read more

This place is a joke. Understaffed and unprofessional. You will wait for 5 hours if it is your first time just to have something stupid get you rejected and sent home with nothing but a wasted day. read more

No doubt about it, this is a business, but once you have your physical and first donation, everything is easy. The physical/donation takes about two hours Once you were an established donor, when you make your appointment arrive on time go to the computer bank on the right, and fill out the questionnaires. You will be directed to wait for a nurse to clarify the questions you didn't get answered correctly or go stand in the station and possibly wait in line to be seen by an intake person who measures your vitals and has a couple screening questions. The numbers they find, parentheses blood pressure, wait, iron level in the blood, etc. Determine the amount of plasma for your donation. Take some music and headphones or book or something. The phlebotomist are professional and don't hurt you. read more

First visit for a plasma donation and the staff were rude and dismissive. There was a line of over 20 people waiting just to be screened. I will not be back read more

I didn't feel welcome and I was turned away due to one of the technicians ignoring me at the desk and not informing the nurse that I needed a physical. I was only a few minutes late. Alot of the technicians had bad attitudes and they seem to not like working at their job. read more

The app makes it convenient to make an appointment but beware. If you go a few months between donating, you will need to get another physical, but you won't know that until you arrive for your donation. Basically waste of time because the app still lets you schedule a donation even if you need a physical. You might as well just never come back at that point because getting a physical and donating the same day takes 3-4 hours. read more

no one was doing the physical part of new patients and no one bothered to explain why we were not being helped so i left after being there 1.5 hours 8 people were waiting for help read more

They do not have enough employees. I literally waited for over an hour before I was seen. Horrible communication. This location needs help!!! read more

My first donation was great my second and last donation was horrible the staff already know if you complain they gonna find a way for you not to donate to make the money they offering and ive been through a problem with one of their rude staff and the manager acted as if I shouldn't complain she really treated me rude like she didn't care read more

Stay away from this place if you can. They usually only have one person doing the BS, VS check. Only give you 5 mins to do rechecks and you only get one. They NEVER have snacks after the initial appt. Plan on an entire morning or afternoon. long lines, no chairs, no snacks, will send you away and their standards are very strict and they follow them to the letter. Other plasma centers are easier to deal with I am told. read more

The facility is nice, clean, and well maintained. That is the best thing I can say about this business. Several of the front office/intake staff were rude and inattentive. Examples: I observed several donors being told to wait while staff members stood around and talked to each other. One staff member left a potential donor sitting in the chairs waiting while she left to go on break. The staff member doing my intake had some kind of bad attitude that really puzzled me. She kept rolling her eyes and wouldn't answer me except with one-word answers. It was very strange and frankly, off-putting. The atmosphere in the front office/intake area was extremely oppressive. None of the staff smiled or engaged with the customers. They gave abrupt, clipped instructions and almost never made eye contact. It made me very uncomfortable. The phlebotomy staff in the donation area were much more personable and seemed to like their jobs. They were all hustling but took time to engage in small talk with the donors. This was my first donation but I don't know if I will go back, despite the fairly attractive payment program they have. read more

This place is a disaster. From the rude nurse, to the lack of explanation to new customers, to the over 3 hour wait each time, I strongly suggest you stay away. Some employees are nice, but no one seems to care that they work at 25% employee to customers. They should not accept so many donors unless they can serve them--or maybe the mean nurse is there to turn half away for no apparent reason to cut donors in half. I'm eager to speak with a manager about these issues which I'm certain he/she is already aware of. It's just sad to think some people are there to help, yet they are treated so poorly and their time is not valued. read more

Most of the employees are friendly but it's not well managed nor well staffed. Managers also do not step up when the wait line is 2-3 hours long and help out. Facility operates at about 25% capacity. read more

Only do this if you have like 4 hours to spend. And look for coupons online for better payout. I was surprised at how good and kind everyone was after reading these reviews. EVERY employee I talked to in there treated me with kindness and respect. Which I appreciate for donating. Now I will say you need to know there's a *BUNCH of reasons you CANT donate* I cancelled my plans, got a babysitter, drive to Birmingham for nothing. I was VERY disappointed by that. Check online for all the conditions of donating. Tylenol 23 hours before donating was my reason. Instead of 24 hours. But ya know all of these conditions are for your safety. Clean place, nice people, bring your phone charger. read more

I wanted to come in and see about donating some plasma and earning a little extra cash. I had heard good things from others, so I figured why not give it a try. I was surprised by how many people go through their doors on any random day. And they have their system really organized and making sure that everyone is safe and knows what is going on during the process. All of the staff were competent, though not all were friendly. They run a lot of specials each month to reward people for coming in and giving regularly. It can be time intensive coming in once or twice a week, but it can be worth the effort and you can help save lives, so it's worth it. read more

This place is very clean and has the best playlist playing everytime I walk in. I always enjoy my time when Tae Tae is working. She's always positive, walking around with a good attitude, and keeping everyone upbeat! Sam helped me today and check up on me to make sure I was comfortable. They seem like they enjoy their jobs! read more

2 1/2 hour wait to finally be told not eligible for having acute asthma after having Covid in 2022. Also the doctor gave me an extremely hard time after I disclosed I used CBD gummies and told me she could ban me for 12 months. I have perfect vitals, perfect veins (according to the phlebotomist), a great attitude and still was treated like a dog by the examiner. read more

About two months ago I donated plasma and the lady was a little rough on my arm leaves a bruise. She then switched sides and did the same on the other side. Then when I came back two days later, I was turned away because of the bruising which I tried to explain they did. Then, what's supposed to take about an hour lasts sometimes 2+ hours (1 hour donating and 1 hour waiting on them to come pull the needle when you're done). read more

What is the point of making appointments if they are going to be over crowded and it take hours for a regular donation? Also one of the nurses doesn't need to linger touching people. No I don't want you to linger holding my hand. It's weird. read more

Although I was unable to donate plasma due to a heart condition. I felt this place was very professional, clean , and followed up with the steps while I was trying to donate. Wonderful place to donate , it's clean and everyone is very professional , the wait might be a little long but it's usually not that bad

The employee's attitude are horrible. They don't care about your time. They all just like to talk and waste your time. If I have an appointment set why am I still waiting to be seen by a nurse 30 mins later who isn't doing anything but running her mouth. By far the worst plasma I been to. Only good thing is the place is clean & neat other than that this place is freaking horrible read more

I've tried to donate at the Lakeshore location two times; I've been turned away both times, neither time was due to health concerns. The first time I showed up within the 10 minute late period, was kept waiting for five minutes then informed I was late and needed to reschedule. The second time I showed up early. I was told I hadn't eaten enough, they made me drink a protein shake. I agreed and they finished my registration process. The woman then took my blood pressure and tapped on my veins prior to telling me I needed to workout and drink more water before coming back to try again in two weeks. Now let me state, I workout daily. I have never had an issue donating before health or vein wise. I drink over 50oz of water daily. I drive an hour to come to this center. To be told I'm not fit to donate is ridiculous considering I have problems going though another service previously. The people at this center were rude and inconsiderate. read more
