Hotel Arts Barcelona delivered one of the most memorable hotel experiences I have ever had. We've…read moretried other luxury hotels in the city, but this is far and away my favorite. From the moment we arrived, the service was warm, polished, and genuinely caring. Every staff member we encountered made us feel welcome, but what touched us most was the kindness they showed after learning that I am a breast cancer survivor. Their thoughtfulness and a handwritten card made me feel incredibly special and reminded me that true luxury is found not only in beautiful surroundings, but in human kindness. Our room was spectacular. Every space...the bedroom, sitting area, and bathroom overlooked the Mediterranean Sea and the marina. Imagine waking up to the sparkling water each morning and watching the sailboats below - we did! It felt almost serene and surreal. I was super impressed they offer Dyson as the in-room hair dryer - that is such a nice touch! A little history...Hotel Arts was built for the 1992 Barcelona Olympics and quickly became one of the city's defining landmarks. Its name comes from the hotel's original vision of integrating contemporary art into the guest experience. Over the years, it has become known not only for luxury and service, but also for its impressive collection of modern art and its iconic seaside location. Without question, a five-star experience in every sense of the word. I cannot wait to return.

I'm never staying here again. If you are coming to Barcelona and are a Bonvoy member, stay at the…read moreW. The staff is great. They've read Excellence Wins written by the CEO, but the hotel is designed horribly. The elevators don't work properly. We had to walk 10 floors down one day. If you need a bathroom quickly and near the lobby expect a long walk to the nearest one. If you want to ask concierge a question, they are almost out the back door. I feel bad for those down the hall behind a pillars and next to the exit door. Why wouldn't they be near check in like every other hotel. We got a handicap room which was fine, but they are no towel bars or hooks in the bathroom. We used the toilet bar to place our used towels on. The drain for the shower didn't work well so we used both bath matt to soak up as much water as possible. The first day I showered I almost flooded the bathroom. Five days an housekeeping didn't deliver washcloths without asking. I had to ask the manager if they thought handicap people didn't need washcloths. Twice our keys didn't work and with the non functioning elevators it was extremely aggravating. Today after getting new keys, we discovered our water was shut off. You can't make this stuff up. Ritz Carlton just became Motel 6. I'll provide some picture/videos for support, but again if you are coming to Barcelona go to the W.

The Barcelona boqueria is, in my opinion, the best market in Europe, within a two minute walk of Hotel Turin, on a quiet, safe street. They hotel room had its own thermostat, to adjust to your preferred temperature, which was necessary on the very cold night that I was there, the room was simple, but adequate, the bed was comfortable in the hotel was quiet for sleeping. The breakfast was very very good, with a large selection of fresh fruits, breakfast meats and cheeses, cereal, eggs, breakfast meats, and home cooked breads and pastries. Highly recommended. Quite reasonably priced for the excellent location. The safe in my room did not work, and there was no plug in the bathtub to take a bath. I had to take a shower. However, I imagine a phone call to the front desk could have fixed both of these issues. I simply didn't have time to make the call.

I didn't realize the actual street the hotel is on is kinda sketchy. I really liked my room. The…read morebreakfast which cost me $15 was pretty ok and they had a variety of food. The issue I had was with the woman at the front desk Thursday evening around 6:00. She was very abrupt and impatient when I asked her to change a 10 euro for 10 coins. She snaped I only have a 5 euro and 5 coins! I told her I needed the change for tipping. She repeated the same thing abruptly. Ok, I understood that but to snap back at a customer is unacceptable! I just walked away and thanked her. She was at the front desk with another gentleman who I wished I had asked instead of her. After my stay here I would not return. I spent a lot of money here and can't justify putting up with a bad attitude. The lift is really slow so if you're in a hurry it will test your patience! When I was checking out the guy at the front desk on Tuesday morning at 5:00 was very unprofessional to say the least. I was in a hurry because the lift was so darn slow and my ride was waiting early. So, I proceeded to give him the keys and told him I was checking out. He said you need to pay for breakfast. I did. Then I told him again I had to go! He raised his voice at me. I told him he was unprofessional. He said, you're unprofessional. I told him I was going to do a review. He didn't care. I told him to shut up! He said, ya ya!
