I had surgery on my right arm and retained an attorney to protect myself. I transferred to Orlando, FL. I received notice that I needed to appear in court in N.Y. for a hearing. I appeared and say for about 2 hours. My attorney at the time, Loretta Samenga was aware of my presence. After the long wait, I was advised I had no case due lack of med. reports. My "lawyer" never made a call to me to advise, nor did she attempt to get the info. Ducks were not in a row. Being ignorant of WC law, I went back to FL minus compensation and a lot of time spent; exhausted vacay time, OT, etc. Well, I discovered cases can be reopened! I retained "attorney" Matthew Travaglia with a new hope. Received a hearing notice after awhile and went to court Where again I waited for 1-2 hours. Guess what!!? Travaglia didn't prepare for the case as WC had no reports, despite Me calling ahead and being told we were good to go. We were not. On both occasions, my so called attorneys SAW ME sitting there and neither had the courtesy to tell me to just go home. Same ga just walked out before I could have a discussion with her, saying they needed your med report, as if it were my fault! I thought that having the case prepped, the attorney would generate some phone calls to get what they needed. WRONG! When I saw that Same gs was disbarred, I breathed a sigh of relief! Aha! They saw her incompetence! Wrong again. She was reinstated. Part 2. Several years later, my son was injured at work, required surgery and his right hand "locks" on occasion and his hand is partially paralyzed. He retained Andrew Vecere, MY INCOMPETENT ATTORNEYS PARTNER!!! I cannot tell you how many emails, phone calls and texts went unanswered. Not to mention that he Did NOT receive any pay for over a year. He was told that add'l. paperwork was needed from the surgeon. Isn't that part of their job? My son made several trips to Dr.s office to comply with the attys. request. It was only after not hearing from the atty. And not getting paid that he would call Kendra, their receptionist. My son was quoted what his case was worth, as his hand was not going to improve. Guess what? He got less than 10% than what was quoted initially as to the value of the case. These "attys." are not interested in justice or even returning phone calls or hiring competent people. At one point the receptionist was upset bc my son was angry. I'd like to see how SHE'D React to no paycheck in over a year. Two of us had to live on my Income, which was not enough to support 2 people. God forbid you need an attorney, but if you do, Vecere and Vataglia put my son and myself in financial distress. Not once, but TWICE. Had I known my atty. was a partner with Vecere, I would have advised my son that they are more like attys. who practice (which is something they need) as a sideline. Other attys. That I know were so upset that we used them....attys. Know what they are. Ever heard the word "Shyster"? Look it up and you will see their pictures. DO NOT, REPEAT DO NOT, ever retain Vecere or Vataglia. NEVER. You don't want to be almost for Ed into bankruptcy or have your credit score drop bc of bills you were unable to to pay bc attys. Did not do their jobs. YOU end up doing the leg work...and I received nothing, twice. Two attys that thought it was a joke and never notified me about paperwork...I would have gotten it myself! Remember, please, my review. THEY SHOULD BE DISBARRED. I am taking this further; it's not over. Only have 1 star so I could post a review.
