We were recommended this seafood market by a local restaurant and the customers inside as the best seafood market to buy fresh raw seafood so me and my family went and we were NOT disappointed they had good prices, a large selection of seasonings, spices, sauces, dips and coatings for the seafood, and sold side dishes and gumbo by the quart! So we bought $150 worth of seafood and gumbo which was somewhere around 6 pounds of different fish and shrimp, a gallon of gumbo and 3 or 4 things of seasonings and spices. the service was great and friendly the gentleman even brought it all to our car in the parking lot! My friend and I went to Billy's yesterday to pick up a load of seafood. Billy's was having a sale on their Big Daddy Shrimp. We both ordered 30 lbs of the shrimp with the heads off. After selecting our other items we paid and were loading the seafood in our big cooler. Long story short, we were charged $14.95/lb instead of the $5.99/lb we thought we had purchased. Billy came out, talked to us about it, and found that we had been given a higher count of the Big Daddy's. This is where he does his best work, he rebagged the shrimp, gave us our refund and said he was sorry that it had happened. We couldn't be more pleased with the outcome, & will definitely be back in the fall for another load. Folks, this is a great business, and a great man to work with in Billy. While in the area for vacation I really wanted to buy fresh caught seafood. Read something me good reviews so decided to make the drive from Gulf Shores. When we pulled in the were unloading a fresh catch from the boat. Picked up some snapper, shrimp, whole oysters, and some crab. The shrimp and oysters had just arrived and the snapper was from earlier in the morning so it's really hard to beat the freshness! Friendly staff took care of us. Some locals recommended Billy's over pretty much any of the seafood shops in Gulf Shores or Foley and they were absolutely right. We were on a mission looking for the wonderful Royal Red shrimp.
