Rented three multi-speed bikes. All three are working well and have been better than expected when factoring beach, salt, heat wear and tear. Ordering bikes was straightforward, but website could definitely do with a facelift to make it easier to check out. I had to call to have order notated that we were going to pick bikes up from Billy's at Baileys. This was very convenient and guys at shop were helpful.

Definitely 5 Stars! For $5 we got a single gear bike for two hours to cruise around Sanibel and take in the views! The bike trails are easy to navigate and the staff at Billy's was friendly and very quick to help! Our bikes were in great condition and worked smoothly and the baskets are fairly large to accommodate a bag or any items you want to keep with you!

We bought our bikes from Billy's - they have the Boss brand (and many others). We have rented from them in the past as well.

Our Segway tour with John was wonderful! He was knowledgable and took us to see manatees. My kids had a great time!

We rent bikes for the family every time we come to Sanibel. The crew at Billy's are friendly and make the experience fun.

Trek Bike Shop of SW Fort Myers

Trek Bike Shop of SW Fort Myers

The friendliest, most efficient bike shop I've experienced in the 18 years I've been in Fort Myers…read more Heath is spectacular with bikes, always providing a complete explanation of the work done and with a friendliness rarely seen these days. This is the place to go if you need a new Trek and the follow up needed when repairs are needed.

Bicycling is a year round passion for me and S/W Florida offers great year round climate for…read morebicycle enthusiasts. That being said, one has to take care of his/her bicycle when little things come up. Such was the case when I had to stop about every 100 yards to hand pump my back tire up on one of my daily rides. So, I came by yesterday inquiring about getting a tube replaced in my rear tire as it had started leaking (see top paragraph). The employee I spoke with asked me if I could bring my bike by the next day between 2pm and 3pm and he would change it out while I waited. Today, at approximately 2:40pm, I returned and true to his word, he replaced the tube. He also visually inspected the tire for any damage and any foreign objects that might have contributed to the leak. I was in and out in less than 15 minutes! Total charge was $10.00 (which I thought was very reasonable). In addition to superb service, this shop has a nice lineup of Trek bicycles - traditional leg powered ones to the ever becoming more popular "E-Bikes" (electric). I will warn you, the electric bikes can get quite expensive. I fell in love with an "Allant + 8S". It's made for those that want to go far and go fast (top speed 28mph). It commands quite a pretty penny. But hey, you're not paying for gas. I'll save my pennies. They have all the supporting bicycle tools, helmets, and (some) apparel one might need. Trek is a well built, and durable bike. I've had mine for over six years - taking it to an authorized Trek service shop occasionally for minor adjustments and tune-ups. If you're in the market for a good quality bike, this place has them. Check them out. Hours of Operation: Monday - Saturday: 10am - 6pm Sunday: 11am - 5pm

I went in today, after putting it off for over a year…read more I needed my tires looked at, possibly new tubing. I was promptly greeted by several gentlemen behind the shop counter. They happened to be each working on various forms of fixing bicycles. When I explained I was having issues with my bike, Jason (said the name on my receipt) told me he could help me. He followed me to my car, and as we were walking, I explained I had recently (3 months before I moved to Florida) fixed my tires. Both had new tubing and I was told everything was hunky duck. I had rode every day, 6 miles, back north, and then I come here and my tires don't hold air. He said it definitely sounded like tubing problems. In some cases, I was shocked, as I had mentioned to him I went to a reputable bike shop up north and paid close to a hundred dollars to now not use my bike. The fact that the tubing failed in less than six months was weird. He couldn't understand how I could have paid so much, as he explained that depending on what tubing I need, plus labor, could run me under 50 dollars. I guess that's the big price difference between south shore Massachusetts and Fort Myers Florida. After we got my bike in the shop, Jason re-iterated my options. Normal tubing, which was slightly thinner, would run me seven dollars a piece (I think that was the price). The next step up, which is thicker, is better for riding around down here, as it's harder to puncture. Spurs and broken bottles are more of an enemy to the lesser model, as this one can take the punch. It also costs $13 a piece and I wouldn't have to re inflate a lot. I asked him what he suggests, and he said that if the area I live in has a daily maintenence crew, or I ride around where there could be broken shards, go for the more expensive. But it *is* a matter of preference. I decided to go with the 13 dollar one, as I plan to ride around on city streets and through parking lots. I was then told 15 minutes and I'll be good to go. Promptly done, I ended up paying $44.52 - that's 13 dollars for each tube and $16 for labor (broken down to 8 bucks a tire). I got my bike back, put it in my car, and went home. After putting the front tire back on, I decided to go for a test ride. 30 minutes and almost 6 miles later, the tires are amazing! Thanks, Bike Route; you have a very satisfied customer who will be returning in the future (and referring friends)!
