I spent all 7 years in KGV and most friends I have now in Hong Kong, I have either met then, or through people I met there. When I was studying, I really took it for granted, but looking back, it's a great school. Arguably one of the best in Hong Kong I think. I mean, come on! we have a big ass field, basketball courts, tennis courts, pool. Our facilities are one of the top and without the huge price tag or stress. (I'm not sure how DBS boys study so hard AND have time for extra curricular to make use of the facilities?) There were many fun activities throughout the year including dance shows, music competitions, battle of the bands, spring fair, etc. But I think KGV really teaches you (and not just the teachers, but the students) to be humble and well-rounded. We're well off but we're not snooty and know the value of money, even the super rich ones! Also many students come out in all disciplinarians. Many in finance, doctors, law, art, fashion, music, teaching. It's really a wide variety and many didn't get it through connections either =p. Students graduate going to top universities whether it's in UK, US, Oz, Canada, HK, etc. I believe KGV also has a very high average IB score now too! I've had many good and bad times in KGV, but I wouldn't trade it for anything else. Although once I have kids, I would probably just pick the school most convenient to us, but I will try my very best to put them in an ESF school. The teachers are great too. Many of us are still facebook friends, although I don't really see them anymore. There is a dance studio for various classes, plenty of cardio machines, and both free weights and machines for some real lifting. This gym is for everybody. It will work as well if you're a amateur body builder, old and retired or just out of High School. Physical is the place to be.

Because they just remodeled, all of the amenities are really nice and new. When I went, there wasn't that many people but it might have been because it was on new years day. Also it was a random time. Unlike some of the other Physical clubs, this one actually has a dedicated stretching area for people to use. But I still dislike that all of the Physical clubs are very strict about what equipment you can use. For example, a lot of the bosus, kettle bells, etc are only for personal training which is ludicrous but I digress. This club is also very conveniently located off of the foot bridge of the A5 exit of the Wan Chai MTR station. If you're looking for a bite to eat afterwards, there's plenty of food in the area.

Offering a wide rage of dance styles from the more popular Hip Hop and Jazz funk to contemporary and Ballroom, SD believes that dancing is for everyone and anyone can dance. Located in an industrial building in Fortress Hill, a large space is reserved for the 2 dance studios for dance classes to take place. Normal dance classes hold around 20 or so people whereas during big events such as dance festival, in which renowned tutors and dancer abroad are invited to give classes in HK, the rooms could pack up to 50 people! Earlier classes start at 17:30 where as most classes start 19:00 and 20:30 catering to the working population, SD would be your another option other than hitting the gym and lifting dumbbells. The energetic dance moves not only will make you sweat, but will make you a star on the dance floor as well~ Just a side note, the couches outside of the studios are quite ideal for a quick nap and indeed many students often do too before the classes start; but if manners are in concern, I would suggest not to do so.
