You either come here by bus or take your private car. Parking can be difficult as the sports ground itself only has around 10 spaces. Still this place is very popular. Joggers do their rounds, running clubs do their interval training here, some rugby and football teams have their weekly training on the real grass pitch. Weekday evenings can get quite crowded with many people using the track. In general the facilities are fine. There are enough lockers to store your valuable items, there are enough vending machines and the toilets, changing rooms and showers are clean enough.

To get there, you can take pretty much any bus that goes through the Aberdeen tunnel - it'll definitely pass by the Sports Ground, as the Sports Ground is actually just along the road where cars exit the tunnel. I guess this Sports Ground is just like any other in Hong Kong. The track is 400m long, and there are clear markings at every 100m mark. The area encircled by the track is a huge grassy patch, where other sporting events like shot put or long jump can be held (there are two sand pits for long jump). The bleachers on the side can fit a whole school and more. I always thought the bleachers were really uncomfortable to sit on though, and the bleachers go quite high so it's always annoying if you need to go to the highest bench just to get something and come down again! There are your typical vending machines around with drinks like water, lemon tea, soft drinks etc. If you want something more substantial - i.e. food, there's a counter that sells ice cream, chips and other snacks. The colorful ice pops - the ones where you break in two and give one to a friend - were always a favorite among us. There are quite a few water fountains here too for you to refill your bottles. In my opinion, this Sports Ground has everything needed to run a successful Sports Meet - and on days where it's not rented out, you'll see athletes making use of the track for training. It was once the best popular and prominent theatre for Chinese Operas. What Chinese Operas, you may ask? Yeah that's why it is in its decline because no one ever watched Chinese Operas anymore, excepts maybe whoever above 50yo. Occasionally you'll see these 50yo "fans" waiting at the backdoor of Sunbeam Theatre hoping to meet their Chinese Opera idols. No kidding. I was born and raised in the neighborhood and always wanted to watch a Chinese Opera here, but the last time I was here was for a drama, 南海十三郎. Funny enough, it was a drama about a famous Chinese Opera writer. The theatre was very roomy, I could imagine why it was best for operas. Nothing you could ever complain really, and you could definitely tell they had do their best to modernize + renovate the whole place in order to attract the younger crowd. It's always good to see the "Full House 全院滿座" cotton cloth banner hanging up at the front door. Because every time it is hung, Sunbeam Theatre is a little bit further away from the constant threat of closure.

I would not go out of your way to come to this museum. I say this because it is tiny, takes about…read more20-30 minutes to get the 100% full experience and is only one niche of Hong Kong history. But with that being said, if you are in the area, this tiny museum space seems renovated with fresh paint, slick with interesting reading installations and is clean and pretty interesting. So if you do find yourself in the area, take a few minutes to pop in to this free museum. In short, during the expansive growth of Hong Kong to the north many moons ago, during construction, a tomb was unearthed and discovered. The tomb did not contain human remains, but it contains all sorts of interesting things dating back a few thousand years. Artifacts, pottery and the tomb itself was preserved in a mound that is sheltered right there among the public park and the urban growth. It is not a big tomb, but kind of cool that Hong Kong kept it preserved for future generations. There is a nice public park attached directly behind the tomb itself.
