Others, though, were intimidating because when you walk into the hotel they just stare at you stone-faced and don't greet you or anything. When I checked out and asked for a taxi to be called the woman behind the reception desk actually stepped back as if I had a plague (and I was speaking in Spanish so it couldn't be a communication problem). The guy who was there had to come from behind her to help me.

The bathroom door in our room was awkward and rubbed the floor when we opened it and the shower was difficult to operate (seemed broken). Service was friendly and helpful while we were there.
