I've noticed some mixed reviews about bike rite, and whilst i appreciate different people will have different experiences, i'm fairly surprised at the previous rating. I couldn't recommend bike rite enough to anyone thinking about getting into motorcycling..if indeed they really want to do that! My experience was all round very good. I wanted to get my bike license after several years off a bike, and i must say, i found it a great challenge, and a good learning curve. The instructors all have really good skills, which i found reassuring, given these were the guys teaching me! I must say though, i wanted to learn and found the guys very willing to pass knowledge. I did see some clients who were just trying out, and for me were never seriously going to take up riding. It's my view that the cbt separates the people who want to try it out and the people who really want to get on two wheels, and maybe explains the bad reviews. I failed my mod 1 first time around, and whilst you sometimes look for someone else to blame (instructor, examiner,weather,that black cat that crossed your path), the fault usually is found in the mirror, and i'm not talking about something behind you! This was exactly where my fault lay after failing. I can't thank Ed enough for guiding me through Mod 1 2nd attempt and then Mod 2 first time pass.just! This guy is very down to earth, and simply knows how to ride properly and safely. That's my goal now as a full license holder, and i feel i've been given a great foundation to improve my riding. Main tips to anyone going for their licenseLISTEN to what your being told, and ASK ASK ASK, about anything your not sure of. After failing Mod 1 i started asking loads of questions, thinking about riding when i was in the car, and mentally going through the manouvres at home.everything got easier from there..unfortunately you will need to WORK for your license. Completed my CBT a few months ago and although I gained my certificate I must say that the experience was not as "brilliant" as rest of reviews. Instructors were, overall, more or less professional; however one in particular was bordering on the sadistic. His manner, demeanour and attitude was one of the most unpleasant and confrontational I've witnessed in any walk of life. In no way is this "instructor" capable of facilitating the development of skills in a complete novice nor is he capable of instilling confidence and reassurance in those in his charge. Instead his bully boy, hard-man act was highly provocational and a poor reflection on a company whose self-professed claim is that it has "friendly patient Professionals who will make your Training a Fun and Exciting time dedicated to your needs". Had he acted like he did outside the confines of the training arena, in the presence of civil, rational adults, he would certainly be quickly put in his place. I certainly was not to the only one to feel this way and I'm certain that this wasn't the once-off behaviour of an instructor having a bad morning. Would I recommend Bike Rite? well, instruction from the other instructors was fairly constructive and delivered with some patience, yet, due to this person I would have to say that the place was a major let-down. read more

Very rude. Cancelled appointment 15 mins before we were meant to start because trainer was ill. I was already at the venue when i received the call. When we turned up for re-scheduled session the trainer said he didn't care about having to cancel and would not apologise. I hadn't even asked for an apology. During the CBT the trainer stopped us at lunchtime to take more experienced riders out. He didn't explain extra costs for having to book second session. We should not have been charged as we had not actually had a full session. I called to book and they wanted to charge another £60! An absolute joke, rude staff and they should have had more than 1 trainer. read more

These guys are brilliant! don't know what other people found but I came accross other reviews and I had to give my view.Iwas very apprehensive about first lessons (CBT) and had to come back after a day and got it then did not cost me any more.Evantually did big bike course which took me a little longer than anyone expected but with a lot of support and great instructing passed first time.Hooray!With the right attitude youll do well with these guys read more

Went to them on recommendation from biker pal never been on motorbike before and a bit nervous about it.Insructors were all great and took time with me.Didn't pass test first time own silly fault but did next time and did not cost any more as their guarantee is to give your next test training and bike hire free-Brilliant.Had a really good time and was sorry when it was all over, need to get money together now for bike! read more

went to bikerite for my test and was told when i pay for the direct access 600 pound that would be me till i passed i failed twice and now been told i have to pay for bike hire and they cant get me a test till the new bike test comes in but i no that not to be true as my friend phoned up and got an earler date they just want more money out of people and let me and some others down big time stay away from these people read more

I recently passed my CBT with bike rite and had a great day. I found the staff to be friendly helpfull and very patient. I had never ridden a bike before and enjoyed myself so much I am now doing a DAS course with the company.Each new day I learn something new and the instructor are extremely patient and willing to answer all my questions without making me feel dumb read more

Brilliant day re-learning to bike after a 30+ year gap. Passed my CBT and booked in for Mod1 & Mod2. Thought the instructors were very positive, helpful, not at all critical and really wanted you to be safe on the road. Learnt loads today and now looking forward to going back for more. read more
