Nora and the rest of the staff were friendly, accommodating and very helpful. During my week there, I recommended their place to 3 other folks who were looking to rent bikes. And this won't be the last time I will be renting bikes from them. My only wish is that I wished Canyon offered or the shop was equipped with a longer stem so that I fit better on the bike. I rented a Collage carbon bike for 55 euro for the day. For another 10 euro, I worked with the owner on a route. He created it, uploaded to Strava, then downloaded to a Wahoo GPS. This gave me turn by turn directions, a certainty that allowed me to focus on riding rather than trying to figure out where to go. You can change into your bike clothes here, leave your bag to change back into street clothes when you return. Barcelona has amazing roads that start just 10 minutes riding time from this shop. They also offer guided tours and multiple day rides if you're interested in those.

Meeting in Plaza Cataluña was no problem - Be Local told us precisely where and when to show up, and had a distinctive umbrella to identify themselves. Our guide, Joel, a local Catalán who speaks flawless English and is very well versed in the history of the Spanish Civil War, took us to key locations around the city center in keeping with the chronology of the war. He used photographs of the era to help us visualize the differences and similarities in the Barcelona of then and of now. While we were en route between sites, he explained what was going on at the time in various other parts of Spain during this tragic period in its history. Clearly, two hours were only enough to get an overview, but Joel answered our questions with clarity. We look forward to future tours with Be Local!
