I was a bit apprehensive as Dermaroller (or microneedling) involves minuscule pin pricks on the skin to stimulate the production of collagen. In other words, this technique creates a response from your own body from microscopic needles lightly rolled over the skin. This will speed the body's own rejuvenation process and although you may experience redness and tightness for one day it soon calms down and new skin appears a few days later. Friends, colleagues and clients haven't stop complimenting me on how good my skin looks ever since! The beautican (middle aged, Greek lady) was very quiet for the first 30 mins, but then we got nattering and she seemed very nice. I already knew how much my treatments were going to come to, but £43 (£25 Hollywood, £18 half leg) is still a shock when you hear it. It really is astonishing that waxing costs so much. Yet, although not cheap, it's not expensive compared to the majority of central London salons, hence the salon still gets a 3* rating. Today (29th April) I went there for my final session which didn't happen because I was asked by the manager to pay 50£ extra for it otherwise the beautician wouldn't touch me. The beautician I met today was different from the one I had all the other treatments with and she found a paper note saying that I missed an appointment on the 15th April, that was a mistake as I never had an appointment on that day. I showed the manager all the texts with the appointment reminder to prove I never had an appointment on that date and that my schedule must have been mistaken with someone else and despite obvious evidence the manager asked me to pay initially 50£ extra and then he lowered it to 30£, however that was just an excuse to get more money out of me because of a mistake they made at their end. As I didn't want to pay the additional fee I was forced to leave the clinic without my last treatment completed. I strongly discourage you from booking anything with this clinic as they are too full of themselves to admit their mistakes and look for excuses to gain more money from customers instead of fulfil their agreement as a business.

The staff are very friendly and Lucy my hairdresser is very good at what she does. They consult with you when you first arrive to what service you want doing and will discuss any changes u want from what u might normally do. You get a pot of tea and biscuits (or any other beverage you fancy) when you first get seated and then your beauty process begins! It is a relatively small salon and is completely unpretentious but offers the same up -to-date treatments or therapies as many other salons that you may feel intimidated stepping into. It is particularly good for facials and skin treatments which are offered at slightly less expensive prices than some more mainstream salons (but not so cheap that you become dubious). The only tiny criticism I have (and this would only apply if you were a lady or man of leaisure!), is that the salon doesn't open until midday during the week. Vervena also run regular seasonal promotions and offer great value gift vouchers. You always have fun with the staff and will leave feeling refreshed and relaxed.
