Not only is this a gorgeous art gallery, but it's a very unique AirBnB as well! I mean, how often…read moredo you get to stay in a studio suite located INSIDE an art gallery?? I felt like I was in Night at the Museum after business hours haha!! The hostess, Lee Ann and her husband were the sweetest, most considerate hosts I've ever had!! Not only were they extremely thorough, communicative, and available, but they made me feel so welcome and at home! They even had a basket full of goodies waiting for me - including some incredible varieties of homemade muffins that were some of the best I've ever had! The suite is located just off to the side inside the actual art gallery but there's plenty of privacy - you can enter through the gallery or through your own private back door so it's totally not an issue. The suite itself was immaculate and HUGE!! Especially the bathroom!! Complete with a dining table, couch and little sink/microwave/fridge area. The WiFi worked well - no issues. And the TV even had nice cable available. But there's so much to keep you busy in the area I hardly watched it. There's a perfect porch off the suite with patio seating, a grill, and incredible views of the mountains! I was there in early October and was just a tad too early for peak fall colors - but the color was starting to come in. I imagine it's positively breathtaking at peak fall color!! And they had some hummingbird feeders outside the windows which was such a joy!! The grounds are extensive - there's a huge field outback with a river at the base of the mountains - tons of birds chirping! The gallery is also centrally located in proximity to tons of ski areas and lovely towns/cities like Montpellier, Woodstock, Killington, etc. Great location!! The suite is very handicap accessible- even the bathroom and shower - very well set up for it. Parking is in their private gravel lot outside the gallery. The art work is just lovely as well and made by the hosts - so talented!! I had such an awesome experience- can't say enough good stuff about it! I will definitely be back anytime I'm in the area!

Don't come for the food, coffee, or wifi - do come to browse the beauty and ingenuity of the…read moregallery pieces and appreciate the architecture of the space. The Village Green Gallery serves a great niche in Weston. For tourists: The town is in a deadzone for internet, and the cafe offers tables to sit at to check your email. Only, the connection is unreliable in the 6+ times I've visited over the past 2 years. I find the prices for coffee and light pastries to be very expensive, and the service not that great, although there is careful attention paid to keep it all local. In comparison to the tsotchke knick-knacks of the Vermont Country Store and the Weston Village Store, the fine crafted pottery, jewelry, glasswork, and photographs are a breath of fresh air. All the pieces, while expensive, are truly a sight to behold. And there are a handful of intentionally lower-priced items like note cards and glass rings for sale, too. For locals: the Fuji'is host the Weston Film Club for monthly viewings and discussions on foreign and independent films. They also host a book club and open up the space for other community meetings. I highly recommend a viewing (usually during the week) of the Film Club. Pop in to browse! The location right on the West Village Green can't be beat! While this is a favorite, I treat it more like a museum to view the artwork, as there's little there that I can afford there and I've never been wowed by the hospitality of Mrs. Fuji, who's usually behind the counter of the cafe. Look elsewhere for food. Look no further if you need to check your email and want to be inspired by the artwork.

If you're a Middlebury College student or a resident of Middlebury town looking for a quick escape,…read moreyou might find yourself here. This place is a free art gallery at the end of Merchant's Row that's open to the public. Here, you can walk in and look around at all the art pieces. I reckon that the gallery doubles as a marketplace for art buyers, as there are price stickers attached to all the pieces. The art here is also quite expensive! (I suppose most fine art is. Makes sense.) There's something soothing about walking around the gallery. Perhaps it's just the small town atmosphere that fills the town. Edgewater is just so easily accessible if you ever find yourself wandering around in "downtown" Middlebury. It serves its purpose well as an art gallery, no complaints. (Though, I recall seeing plastic vegetables mounted on a wooden board being sold for several hundred dollars. Everybody's a critic, including me.) This place serves as a great way for local Vermont artists to get their name and work out there. I hope that when I come back, I'll see some new pieces-- otherwise, these artists likely aren't selling their work!

FYI-Art of Water Exhibition "There's something in the water here at the Brandon Artists Guild as we present the third of our Earth-themed twentieth anniversary shows: Art of Water. "We're drawing from a deep well of creativity for this exhibit," says photographer and long time Guild member Lowell Snowden Klock. "The water theme lets our imaginations flow. Like the previous shows in the series, there's a lot of diversity and energy." The all-member, all-media show includes ceramics, collage, watercolor, oils, photography, glass and more, all linked by the theme of water. Art of Water will run from June 28 through Tuesday, August 27. Join us at the opening reception on Friday, June 28 from 5PM to 7PM. All are welcome." I recommend getting breakfast, lunch, or dinner at Cafe Provence less than a block away on the same side of the street as the Guild and the Cafe offers wine tasting, a gourmet shop, and "authentic" French cooking as the local Chef is from France. There is also outdoor seating which is lovely in the summer or fall seasons.
