Interesting hotel in its own grounds. Nice vintage building, with modern additions. Rooms are pleasantly furnished.
Has a rather amateur feel to the staffing. There's a mixture of very young, and more mature staff. The youngsters are willing and helpful, but don't give a reassuring feel. The more mature staff are friendly and sound professional, but service is slow and disorganised. The restaurant serves nice food, but at a price of service so slow a snail would be embarrassed. Despite being told we were under a time constraint, our evening meal still dragged on for over 2 hours, and the staff then made cumbersome jokes about emergency cheesecake, which fell flat on the rather impatient party. Breakfast was much better, a sharp waitress on top of her job, and enjoyable food which arrived promptly. read more
