Big Yellow are a student's dream, hence their proximity to Brighton University: a cheap, reliable self-storage service. Lots of features, from online booking to loads of rooms to a huge number of security measures, means this is the place to drop stuff off while you head home for the summer, or wait for your house to be available while you crash at your friend's house. Outside of the applications of students, I can't imagine this comes in very handy for many others, but it's great to know that, should I need storage space, I'd know where I could get very affordable and excellent service!
Most people who travel this Lewes Road, be it by bus or the train that runs alongside, will know the Big Yellow: it's that massive, imposing building that looks somewhat like a prison, just before the Vogue Gyratory. Frightening as it looks on the outside, this is nothing compared to the long, metal corridors you have to walk through, a nightmarish rabbit warren of possible horrors... I jest, but it is a bit spooky.
If you can get over that spookiness, Big Yellow does offer absolutely anything you could possibly want from a self-storage service. Spaces are available from about suitcase size all the way up to small children's playground (their example), and are all available to book online. Also, mercifully, the online booking system is very easy to use: even a beginner like me got it in one. That, plus advanced security measures like individually alarmed rooms, double-locked doors and the like mean you couldn't feel more secure about your contents.
Content storage is never very cheap, but the prices here seem completely fair and reasonable, adding up to why Big Yellow is one of the better places for this kind of thing in Brighton.
