She listened to all of our concerns. She was so thorough and in depth. Never missing a single thing during any appointment. We Explained to her that we wanted something to where we could be the most hands-on during our birth, and that is exactly what we got. Throughout the entire pregnancy, she educated us. Answering all of my questions. She is so funny, but also extremely professional and truly just a joy to get to work with. When I went into labor, she was there a heartbeat more ready than we were we were taking our time we had two other kids lol. She always asked for permission before doing anything. I felt like I was being treated like a queen. After giving birth, she was so accommodating so attentive. She came to do checks on myself and the baby she always asked before even touching the baby. She respects everybody boundaries. I got the honor to become her friend and kept in contact giving her updates on our baby that she helped bring into this world. Then we got pregnant again and knew that we wanted to have a free birth. But we still knew that we wanted prenatal care and we only knew of one place we wanted to go to get that.. Charlee helped guide us to make sure that we got our blood work done during pregnancy, our anatomy scan, and even made sure that baby was headed down a few weeks before giving birth. Unfortunately, we were moving to Texas to give birth, so there was no way for her to be our midwife. But she helped us by making sure we had a healthy pregnancy the entire way. We made it to full-term and gave birth to a beautiful, healthy baby girl. After giving birth, though my placenta was being a little stubborn. I gave Charlee a call on FaceTime and she picked up it was a little late into the evening and she still answered! (That's because she's truly that awesome) she helped by simply telling me to stand up and cough and sure enough that did the trick! Talk about being such an amazing midwife over the phone in a whole other state. The financial aspect of it all she works with you. Some people are concerned that they want to have a homebirth with the midwife, but they can't afford it. She can come up with a payment plan for you and let me tell you 100% worth it with Charlee , if you were to invest your money anywhere for the birth of your baby every single time I would put my money into Charlee. The medical aspect of it all let me tell you when you see the bag that she brings to every appointment. She is ready for the impossible. I swear she's got like a mini hospital in that bag. The all natural aspect if you are somebody who is trying to avoid as much medical stuff as possible, she's also your go to woman. She will give you different stretches and things you can do to avoid medication pain relief etc The overall aspect of Charlee as a midwife is, she's the woman you want to go to . She's the one you want on your team. Charlee is nothing but incredible in the care she provides and lets natural really take its course, very through, nurturing, trusting, and takes her time with you through the whole journey. I do have to pay out of pocket, but it's worth every penny for the experience. My toddler who was 23 months at the time was able to witness her little sister being born, and i strongly believe to this day, it's the reason why she's so in love with her sister. My husband even got to catch our baby with his hands, that's something you can't always say happen. The whole experience is what made it worth it, Charlee is the experience. My pregnancy, labor, and delivery were all smooth and calm, not once did i feel stressed. I went into this pregnancy wanting a completely different experience than my first. I had…read morepreviously had a C-section, and my hope was to have a natural birth and avoid another cesarean recovery--but I didn't even know if that was possible. Through my doulas, I learned about VBAC and finally felt empowered to explore that option. Because I have hip dysplasia, I was hesitant and unsure if my body would allow it. From the very beginning, they offered support, knowledge, and reassurance that helped me feel confident and open-minded to try something new, knowing I wouldn't be alone no matter how things unfolded. Despite the challenges I faced--including a 36-hour labor and moments where my hip dysplasia became difficult again--they were there every step of the way. They provided constant reassurance, emotional support, and hands-on physical comfort through massage and positioning that I truly couldn't imagine laboring without. In the end, I achieved my goal of a natural birth--something I never thought was possible. If I could go back, I would absolutely have hired a doula for my first birth as well. Not only did they support me, but they were also an incredible support system for my husband, guiding him on how to best help me and ensuring we were both nourished, informed, and prepared. My daughter has always had quite the temperament and a fiery personality to boot, so if you combine that with general discomfort, possible reflux, and a dairy allergy, you get a confused and tired mom--cue me. I was struggling for 7 months, until I saw some suggestions to look for a chiropractor. I did some research but I was still a bit apprehensive, so I kept looking over and over for a decent chiropractor who specializes with children. I found Dr. Kate Wong and gave her a call, and the rest is history. First thing, how awesome is it that she does house calls? That's the first I've seen for a chiropractor. She was very patient and interactive with my daughter, who has a little bit of "stranger danger" instincts that made some of her appointments a tad difficult. But my daughter would surely but slowly settle into her appointments, and I just regret not being able to have them a lot more often. The few appointments we had really helped our daughter. Believe me, I would have loved to follow the treatment plan to the T, because those appointments really helped my daughter relax and not be so angry and stiff. I could literally feel the difference in holding her after the appointments. Dr. Kate Wong was very flexible and worked with our schedule. She also understood we couldn't do too much because of our budget. Dr. Kate Wong also responded very quickly to any questions or concerns I had regarding my daughter and her health. I also appreciate the small, thoughtful gifts she sent to me, such as some organic nettle tea bags (and a recipe, which was delicious) and small samplings of natural tumeric bars for breastfeeding moms. She's also very knowledgeable on different holistic things, current events, and other referrals. Overall, she's a wonderful and thoughtful chiropractor. I didn't fall pregnant after 10 years of not…read morepreventing and a few periods of actively trying with ovulation testing, acupuncture, timing, supplements etc. I had had some other more basic testing done in the past and they said I was healthy and nothing wrong. I'm 34 and I wanted to put trying on hold for a year to get out of debt and get our finances in order. I wanted to get some further testing done to make sure I had the time to do that. I wanted someone with the knowledge and experience the primary care doctors couldn't help me with and I didn't want to go to a traditional fertility place because I didn't want to feel forced into IVF/ viewed as a dollar. I live nearly an hour away and made the drive to Dr. Dana a couple of months ago. I cannot say enough good things about her and all the staff. Most doctors make me feel difficult or too much. I have ADHD to top it off so having a conversation with me is hard already because I'm all over the place. Dr. Dana is the warmest, kindest professional I've ever seen. She was positive, empathetic, took the time to listen to me and really explain things in a way I understood. They worked with me and let me do an ultrasound that same visit so it would be less time missed from work and she's very flexible meeting with me virtually in between. I had so many answers from that first visit. She uncovered items other doctors had missed from my blood work. She ran labs that should have been ran before. She made many suggestions that I said no to, and she was so kind about that and didn't try to push me. I eventually listened and she ordered my husbands sperm analysis as well as I've since done an HSG to make sure my tubes are open. I didn't get the peace of mind I wanted, turns out I don't have time to wait and we have some severe male factor to work with, but I wouldn't have wanted to find this information from anyone else. She's also treating my thyroid with medication and gave supplement suggestions based on my labs. My journey to parenthood is not looking like I thought it would but I'm so thankful to be working with her and her staff during this. I just had to share in case anyone else is on the fence about where to go. I cannot recommend her enough. Thank you for making me feel like a person and not a number. If it wasn't for the decision to go to Nurture, I pry would have missed out on my ability to be a biological mom which I'm hopeful will be soon.

As a 32 year old, new mama-to-be, I was very anxious about the road on which my body and mind were headed. My menstrual cramps had been brutal growing up and i equated that with having a low threshold for pain. So when I learned I was pregnant, I convinced myself that the only way I was going to get my baby out was through a self-elected cesarean, or an epidural paired with a cocktail at the very least. It wasn't until the end of my first trimester when my perspective had shifted. Propelled by my dissatisfaction with Kaiser's service, I sought out alternatives to my prenatal care. I remembered my colleague's home birth story which inspired bodily integrity and local midwifery services. Skeptical that the home birth approach was right for me, I scheduled a consultation with Taproot anyway. The consultation with Tel and Amy did more than just answer the 50 questions I had prepared beforehand. It quieted the worries racing in my head regarding patient and care provider relational dynamics on top of common pregnancy-related anxieties. While we covered many topics in the hour-long consultation, I'd like to highlight what resonated with me the most: 1. When I asked about the types of labor pain management techniques they offer, they said that a home birth itself is pain management. I wasn't sold on this response initially. With each subsequent week, however, I realized all the little things about my home that make me feel the safest and most comfortable: my bed, the cleanliness, the power to decide who enters my personal space. Ultimately, this is what put my body, mind and soul at ease during labor. 2. They believe in the power of "no" and always asked for my consent before touching any part of my body or my baby's body. This experience was unexpected but much appreciated especially as an adult survivor of child abuse. Being poked and prodded by medical providers without verbal consent is so normalized nowadays. My time with Taproot has taught me to be a stronger advocate for myself and that I have complete autonomy over my body. 3. Another thing that resonated with me was that they valued our time together. Each prenatal and postpartum appointment was scheduled to be an hour long. If i came with a list of questions, they took the time to carefully answer each one. On days i wasn't so inquisitive, they educated me and my husband about all things pregnancy and gave us practical resources to help mentally and physically prepare for labor and postpartum. If you feel drawn to some of the experiences I mentioned or are considering going the home birth route, it wouldn't hurt to schedule a free consultation with Tel and Amy. I don't know for sure what the rest of my pregnancy journey would've looked like had i remained in Kaiser's care. But i do know that my prenatal care team- Tel, Amy and my husband, was truly a dream team that empowered and supported me from pregnancy to postpartum.
